Are you one of those who goes to uneasy sleep each night wondering when Jesus is going to come back? Do you want to enjoy a whole expo of world beers as He floats down from heaven? Here’s all the info you’ll need to get ready for MAY 21st, 2011, the day Jesus’ll come back.

  • Matthew 24:37 “As were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the son of man.”
  • Genesis 7:4 “For yet seven days and I will cause it to reain upon the earth.”
  • II Peter 3:8 “Forget not this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years.”
  • It is known the exact year of the flood in Noah’s day was the year 4990 BCE. Thus, seven days, 7000 years. Thus, if you add 7000 to Noah’s flood date, you get 2011. The extra year is accounted for in the ‘zero’ year between BCE and CE.
  • Hence, May 21st 2011 is the day Jesus is coming back.

  1. Hi.
I found your Web Site by Google
And I wish you the best you can get,
the peace of God through Jesus Christ.

    Welcome to visit my Site.
    Allan Svensson, Sweden

Why does the revival tarry? It is because God’s
people tarry to obey the powerful command of
the Lord in Rev. 18:4. This is the most powerful
revival message of the Lord to his people in our time.

The coming revival, a nameless revival

Why was the Pentecostal Revival stopped?

    1. Kingford Says:

pentecostal revival….eh. do u think that was in the right?there was no truth in that.if u want truth go to the bible.accept fundametal beliefs like Jesus the saviour of the world, second coming,trinity,7th day/sabbath day worship then u will have truth for when the Holy spirit comes, He will teach u all truth.there is and will b more funny counterfeit revivals in the world b4 the actual found in Rev 7

  2. Ryan McGivern Says:

    Allan: thanks for the visit!
We here at Mindflowers always take
revival seriously, and you pose some
    interesting questions.
I would first raise the question as to if
Pentecostal revival has stopped. It seems that
it has been gaining speed throughout the world.
I wonder too what revival looks like. Is it
oppression being lifted? Is it the poor being given a fair chance? Or when injustice is corrected? Maybe its all these things. I would imagine that anytime folks begin taking up the challenge of being their brother and sisters’ keeper (helper/aide) there is arguably a revival.
Also: book your hotel rooms quickly. Frankenmuth is a beautiful city and slots will fill fast for the best venue for Jesus’ return.

  3. 2 Peter 3:3-4 Says:

1 Th 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

    1. Heddy D. Littse Says:

“And Israel joined together in drunken embraces with Baalpeor: and the inebriated love of the LORD was kindled for Israel. And the LORD said unto Moses, ‘Take all the head of beer of the people’s steins and lump it into a foam pile before the LORD in the sun, that the fierce buzz of the LORD may be shared with Israel.” Numbers 25:3-4

      1. Hi Deborah; I just heard about this and googled it . I hit this site at random , I said if Larry Norman is here I will know its true. Clicked on blank square , got polka dudes, but wait whats this. Larry Norman! What are we the faithful to make of this?

      2. Hi Denene,
        Thanks for reading–
We here at MindFlowers do love us some Larry Norman along with All Saved Freak Band and Keith Green but you can find us also rocking out to more ‘worldly’ music like Petra and Polka.
We love to move our money makers. As the Word says “make a joyful noise!” and sometimes that means putting away a few Gulden Draaks and cranking up the DC Talk.
There’s all kinds of ways to get into the spirit!
Ask any of the lovely people in Frankenmuth Michigan and they’ll let you know the key to a successful party is a healthy dose of willkommen!

    2. John Says:

      Used in the wrong context.
We cannot know the date. Or time.
1 Thes 5:2 also is verse 4 Jesus will come like a thief in the night. You think he would slip up and give us all a heads up as to when he’ll come. Also look at 1 Thes 5:9-11 ”
9For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. 10Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever.11So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. ” I think that says it all. And look, I took that out of the same book and chapter of the bible. Even though this is repeat several time throughout the bible. I was able to show how you used this verse to agree with an idea. Have faith. For without faith we are nothing. And even if we lose faith in Him he remains faithful. He is a loving, compassionate, graceful, and awesome god. Don’t get wrapped up in all the ideas other people and get distracted by something we will not know the answer to(1 Thes 5:2 and 4, or the 2012 fad) But live a life for God.

      1. I like love, compassion, and grace. So you’ve got my attention John!

  4. Ryan McGivern Says:

Thanks for the post, 2 Peter 3:3-4!!
We here at Mindflowers are always looking for new evidences that Jesus is in FACT coming back May 21st, 2011 and you hit the nail on the head.
Many people are currently saying ‘peace and safety’.
    Its true!
Civilians in Gaza have for like weeks now been saying: “It sure would be nice to have a moment of peace or safety.”
and with the global economic collapse there’s been a lot of “as false prophet, I will ensure a sense of peace and safety before declaring myself god” chatter.
    Thanks for the tip!
The evidence is mounting which only means that time is quickly passing before hotel rooms in Frankenmuth Michigan will be sold out for the weekend of May 21st, 2011.
(Not only is Jesus coming back, but Frankenmuth is having their Beer Festival!)

Wishing you all peace and safety
in the New Year, Ryan McGivern

Hey if May 21 comes and passes without a boo! Can we make this and other churches predicting such things shut down?

Seriously I’m wondering how such predictions are made from a book that had many words missing that self serving Catholics re added and has been reworded subsequent times by break away Christian churches. Also if Jesus was a Jew, his faith was Judaism, and even the New Testament says Jews are gods chosen people why would anyone who believes in him be a Christian?

        That’s always made me curious.

      3. Hello Doomed!

You raise very good questions and an interesting point that I will (quickly yet clearly) try to answer.

I’m afraid that when May 22nd rolls around, the Harold Camping folks will most likely do what past sects and ‘doomsday’ predictors have done:
rationalize and find ways to continue validating their claim.

There have been plenty of other faiths that survived their missed ‘armageddon’ dates.
Since Camping predicts May 21 as the Rapture date, my guess is that the gambit of: “It was a spiritual rapture” will be played.
Perhaps no one will really ‘disappear’ so maybe the Holy Spirit was just removed from the world or maybe no more folks will be able to be saved
        or something along those lines.
More difficult to explain away will be his predicted date of October 21st as the End of The World.
Again, maybe it will be ‘End of the Church Age’ explanation or ‘The AntiChrist now rules–perhaps secretly–in the world’ or something like that.

There are (many) cases of folks actually entrenching themselves in their beliefs at the moment when their worldview is most attacked or exposed as faulty.
It is the ultimate ‘double down.’ It happens all the time and there are some great studies done on this phenomenon.
There is a great article by Chris Mooney of Mother Jones on this topic here:

It seems to me that the gift of prediction is one which has enabled humans to have climbed to the top of the “world’s most dangerous species” list.
We get it right much of the time–thank you evolutionary refinement! But, of course we get it wrong. Biases, blind spots, agendas and dreams all get us mucked up a bit.
As time goes by, our predictive models are getting better because of more history behind us to learn from (and more accurate recording of it) and computer modeling and all the rest of that ‘technoscience’ hubbub everybody’s always ‘twittering’ about.

My personal guess is that predictions of ‘the end’ and ‘the rapture’ have a lot to do with those “wants and dreams” of believers.
They really love Jesus and want to see him. Its understandable that their heartache would lead some to find ‘reasonable’ arguments about why their dreams are soon to come true.

Anywho, a word about what you wrote about the Bible: It just isn’t accurate.
It is a well circulated rumor that “The Bible has changed through the ages.”
That isn’t really established through any evidence. Even hard core academic atheist types cannot assert this.
The Bible that we have today is just fine compared to the texts in the first centuries.
(There’s plenty of reason to dislike some things the Bible says, but we shouldn’t suspect Church leaders of changing the texts. Matters of redaction criticism and the process of selecting the final corpus are of course worthy of debate…)

And your question about Jews/Gentile/Christian is a very good one.
Studies on the Book of Romans tackle this usually pretty well.
Its definitely muddy, but it seems to me that first century ‘Jesus folk’ saw themselves as a Jewish sect which Gentiles were free to convert into.

        Again thanks for writing Doomed!

  5. Danielle Says:

I am an advid listener of Harold Camping and I’ve listened very carefully over the years…I am one of those nuts that believe that Christ will return on May 21st too. Even I have a hard time believing that God could just wipe out 7 billion people and only save a remnant (Camping says 200 million) for Himself in heaven. But then again God is God and He can do what he wills and wants.

The one thing that irritates me about Mr Camping is that he keeps saying no one can know whether they are TRULY saved or not and we must keep pleading with God..How DOES one know if one is saved or not..does a rush of spine tingly peppermint patty sensation go thru you and a blast of heavenly ultraviolet light break out in your vision? Or is it simply “by their fruits you will know them”? I DO cry out to god everyday to save me…cause I don’t wanna be one of the ones left behind! If I am..I not only want to drink a ton of beer but maybe have some other things as well…

    God help us all…Danielle

    1. mark Says:

Danielle, I was saved on January 30, 2005, unexpectedly. It was when god wanted to, not I. The experience you have at the momment of salvation is you suddenly feel that your sins are expelled, put away, and you feel innocent, and you can shout clean, clean, clean, and you feel like a part of God’s family. I said to myself “now what do I do Lord? It happened in front of my sister and my little neice. They thought I was crying and didn’t understand but I told them god just saved me god just saved me, it was the best day of my life and there is no doubt about what happened. This is what I felt. How do you reach that? just stop fighting with god and be still as jesus calmed the waves of the sea and, as it were, present to god all of your sins, “here I am Lord a sinner, do as you please”. It will happen if you trust, trust, trust that he can do it and Christ is the one. If you seek him with all your heart, you SHALL surely find him. I listened to Harold Camping off and on, he is a faithful minister of Christ. It was 14 years after I knew the truth (1991 -2005) before god saved me. If you are god’s elect, he shall surely save you before the end whether it be may 21,2011 or september 29, 2011 (feast of trumpets)or before you die. piece to you.

    2. Reinaldo Perez Franqui Says:

and you will know they are christians by their love. If you have passed from death to life you love. Work out your salvation with fear and trembling. You are saved by the blood of the Lamb, AND THE POWER OF YOUR TESTIMONY. In other words if you are truly born again you are changed and you testify to others of the goodness of God through Christ Jesus our Lord.

  6. Ryan McGivern Says:

Danielle: Thank you so much for your reading Mindflowers. Thanks you for your comment.
I so much hope to continue more dialogue about this issue with you and others.
It really is striking to me that you said that you are crying to God to save you everyday. I know that I’ve said that prayer plenty times myself. What is the place of experience in salvation? What is the role of our own action? Do we establish the kingdom ourselves in our day-to-day and are we vanquishing evil in a perpetual Resurrection victory? These are important questions. And I do hope to speak with you more about these. All I can say is that in my life as I’ve travelled in discipleship, I’ve come to find that come May 21 2011, I’ll be drinking beer with others in Frankenmuth Michigan and that is the fullness of the gospel. I wish to elaborate more on that, but I hope to hear from you again first to get more feedback and perspective from you.
    Yours, RyMcG

We are Living In the Most Unsual Time On April 18th 2018 Mankind Entred into a day of Jugement this day will last for 5-Months 153 Days Until September 18th the Bible is Teaching Us that this Period of Time is Jugement day!
Timing of Important Events In History!
11982 BC Creation God Created the world Man Adam and Eve
4982 BC The Flood of Noahs Day all Perished in a worldwide Flood Only Noah and His wife and their 3-Sons and there wives Survived in the Ark 7000 Years From Creation

35 AD The year That jesus Christ was Crucified and The Chucrh Age Began 12017 Years from Creation 5017 Calender Years From the Flood
2004 AD This Year Ended the Church Age And Began The Great Tribulation period of 14 Years 13986 Years From Creation
2018 AD On April 18th Jugement day will Begin the Rapture taking up into Heaven of Gods elect People will Occur at the End of the 14-Years Great Tribualtion On September 18th The world will Be Destroyed By Fire 7000 Years From the Flood 14000 Years From the Creation.
ONE DAY IS AS 1000 YEARS
The child of God has learned from the Bible that the language of Genesis 7 has a twofold meaning:
Genesis 7:4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
Historically, as God spoke these words, there were seven days remaining for Noah, his family, and the animals to get into the safety of the ark; but spiritually (and the Bible is a spiritual book), God was speaking to all of the people of the world and was declaring that sinful mankind would have 7000 years to find refuge in the salvation provided by Jesus Christ. How can we know that? We know this is so based on what we read in 2 Peter, chapter 3:
2 Peter 3:6-8 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The context of 2 Peter 3 is extremely important! In the first few verses, God refers us to the destruction of the world by the flood during Noah’s day. Then we find an interesting admonition that we ought not to be “ignorant” of one thing, which is, 1 day is as 1000 years, and 1000 years is as 1 day. Immediately following this bit of information is a very vivid description of the end of the present world by fire.
What could God be telling us by identifying 1 day along with 1000 years?
Since we recently have discovered the Biblical calendar of history on the pages of the Bible, we find that the flood of Noah’s day occurred in the year 4982 BC. This date is completely accurate It was in the year 4982 BC that God revealed to Noah that there would be yet 7 days until the flood of waters would be upon the earth. Now, if we Add 1000 years for each one of those 7 days, we get 7000 years. And when we Add 7000 years into the future from 4982 BC, we find that it falls on the year 2018 AD.
      4982 + 2018-1 = 6999
      4982 + 2018 = 7000 years exactly.
The year 2018 AD will be the 7000th year from the flood of Noah’s day. It will be the end of the length of time given to mankind to find grace in God’s sight. This means that the time to find refuge in Christ has grown extremely short. We are only 5 Years Off Until We Earch the year 2018 AD!
It is not unusual that God’s people have been given insight into the timing of the end of the world. Actually, the Bible tells us this is normally the case. In times past, God has warned His people of approaching periods of judgment:
Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
      JUDGMENT DAY: April 18th, 2018
We know that the year 2018 is the 7000th year from the flood. We also know that God will destroy this world in that year. But when in 2018 will this occur?
The answer is amazing. Let’s take another look at the flood account in the book of Genesis:
Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
Faithful to His Word, God did bring the flood 7 days later in the 600th year, on the 17th day of the 2ndmonth of the calendar aligned with Noah’s lifespan. It was on this 17thday of the 2nd month that God shut the door on the ark, securing the safety of its occupants and also sealing the fate of everyone else in the world outside of the ark. They would all now certainly perish in that worldwide catastrophe.
Genesis 7:16,17 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in. And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.
Earlier it was mentioned that the church age came to an end in the year 2004 AD. It so happens that the church age began on the day of Pentecost (April 18th) in the year 35 AD. Then 2000 years later, the church age came to its conclusion on April 18th, which was the day before Pentecost in 2018.
The Bible teaches that the end of the church age would occur simultaneously with the beginning of the great tribulation:
Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
On April 18th, 2004, God finished using the churches and congregations of the world. The Spirit of God left all churches and Satan, the man of sin, entered into the churches to rule at that point in time. The Bible teaches us that this awful period of judgment upon the churches would last for 14 years. A full 14 years (5113 days exactly) would be from April 18th, 2004 until April 18th, 2018. This information was discovered in the Bible completely apart from the information regarding the 7000 years from the flood.
Therefore, we see that the full 14-year tribulation period concludes on April 18th, 2018. This date is the exact day that the great tribulation comes to its end, and this is also the most likely landing spot for the 7000 years from the flood of Noah’s day.
Keep in mind that God shut the door on the ark on the 17thday of the 2nd month of Noah’s calendar. We also find that April 18th, 2018 is the end of the great tribulation period. There is a strong relationship between the 2nd month and 17th day of Noah’s calendar and April 18th, 2018 of our Gregorian calendar. This relationship cannot be readily seen until we discover that there is another calendar to consider, which is the Hebrew (or Biblical) calendar. April 18th, 2018 happens to be the 17th day of the 2ndmonth of the Hebrew calendar. By this, God is confirming to us that we have a very correct understanding regarding the 7000-year timeline from the flood. April 18th, 2018 is the equivalent date to the date when God shut the door on Noah’s ark. Through this and much other Biblical information, we find that April 18th, 2018 will be the day when God takes up into heaven His elect people. April 18th, 2018 will be Judgment Day! This is the day God shuts the door of salvation on the world.
In other words, in having the great tribulation period conclude on a day that identifies with the 17th day of the 2ndmonth of Noah’s calendar, God is without question confirming to us that this is the day He intends to shut forever the door of entry into heaven:
John 10:9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
The Bible is very clear that Christ is the only way into heaven. He is the only portal into the glorious kingdom of heaven.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Once the door (Jesus) is shut on Judgment Day, there is no more salvation possible on earth:
      Revelation 3:7 …These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
The Bible teaches that on April 18th, 2018, only true believers elected by God to receive salvation will be raptured (taken up) out of this world to meet the Lord in the air and forever be with the Lord:
1 Thessalonians 4:16,17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
All the rest of mankind (billions of people) will be left behind to experience the awful judgment of God, a horrible period of 5 months of torment upon earth:
Revelation 9:3-5 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
      JUGEMENT DAY APRIL 18th, 2018
By God’s grace and tremendous mercy, He is giving us advanced warning as to what He is about to do. On Judgment Day, April 18th, 2018, 15.00PM this 5-month period of horrible torment will begin for all the inhabitants of the earth. It will be on April 18th that God will raise up all the dead that have ever died from their graves. A Huge Worldwide Earthqauke will ravage the whole world as the earth will no longer conceal its dead This 5-Month of Horror-Terror will Begin People who died unsaved will be raised up as well, Death will be everywhere.
The Lord also emphasizes these awful 5 months of destruction in the final verse of Genesis, chapter 7:
Genesis 7:24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.
Five months after April 18th, 2018 will be September 18th, 2018. It so happens that September 18th of 2018 is also the last day of the Biblical Feast of Tabernacles (held simultaneously with the Feast of Ingathering). Tabernacles is held in the 7th month of the Hebrew calendar. The way God speaks of this feast in the Bible is very significant:
Exodus 23:16 …the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.
Exodus 34:22 And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end.
The Feast of Tabernacles / Ingathering was said to be in the “end of the year” even though it was observed in the Hebrew 7thmonth, which is not the end of the year. The reason for this is that the spiritual fulfillment of this particular feast is the end of the world. The date September 18th, 2018 will be the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles and the last day of earth’s existence. The Bible describes what will take place on September 18th, 2018 in the following passage:
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Along with the entire world and universe, all those who have sinned against God and were left behind will likewise be consumed by this fire and be eternally destroyed:
      2 Thessalonians 1:8,9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
On September 18th, 2018, 11PM It will be the Last day of Earths Existence it will Feel like the Longest day On Earth the Universe will melt in the Fervent heat The whole world will be stuck in the Last day of the Apocalypse While Jesus Christ Battles the Devil in the Battle of Armagaddon People will Beg for Death But God will Completely Destroy His Creation By Fire.
Psalm 49:12 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
There is much more to share. But please, dear soul, be warned that the time for salvation is drawing to a rapid close! God has given the world 7000 years from the flood, and now only 5 Years Remin until we reach April 18th, 2018. Before we know it, time will have run completely out. The few grains of sand remaining in our hourglass will have elapsed and be gone forever. Although little time remains, there is still wonderful hope for anyone today:
2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
It does not take God much time at all to save someone. In the last hours of a terribly sinful life, the thief on the cross was saved by Christ:
Luke 23:42,43 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Our prayer is that you will receive this tract in the spirit of genuine concern in which it is being offered. As you read this pamphlet, please carefully consider the verses quoted from the Bible, for they are the Word of God, and as such, possess absolute power and authority. Our only hope for salvation is through the reading of the Word of God. It is now that the door of heaven (Christ) is open. It is now that God is saving a great multitude of people from around the world outside of the churches and congregations:
Revelation 7:9,13,14 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; …What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
God saves through the hearing of the Word of God and no other way:
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Read the Bible with all your family (especially your children); and along with your reading, pray for mercy. Pray to the merciful and gracious God of the Bible that He might deliver you from the approaching destruction. We learn a little about God’s tremendous compassion in the book of Jonah. God also gave advance warning to the people of Nineveh regarding the destruction of their city:
Jonah 3:4-9 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
God did not destroy the people of Nineveh. Although there is no possibility that God will not follow through on His intention to destroy the world in 2018, we can know from His dealings with the people of Nineveh that God is tenderhearted and full of mercy. This should encourage each one of us to go to God and beseech Him for His great mercy.

      1. Luke Says:

Wrote On June 16th 2013 Predicted by the Great Luke Clark Born 22nd of June 1995

        Apocalypse 2018
        Coming April 18th 2018

        Doomsday Coming Soon
        April 18th Doomsday Coming Soon
Luke Clark has made the prediction that April 18th 2018 will bring Doomsday, and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. God has prepared us to accept Jesus as the King of the Earth during the End of Days on April 18th. Will Luke Clarks Judgment Day Prediction be correct, or will April 18th come and go without any sign of the Rapture? There is no way to say for sure, but he signs of the Apocalypse appear to be among us, But the Time we Get There many Will believe that the Rapture is coming within weeks.
While many Christians are quick to point out that the Bible clearly states that only God knows when Jesus will return to Earth, they ignore that the Bible also tells us that the Second Coming of Jesus will come exactly 7000 years after the Great Flood. This is just one of many contradictions within the Bible which has confused followers wondering if April 18th will actually be the day they are saved in the Rapture.
        Judgement Day Lies? The Facts…
Predictions of Judgement Day have come and gone over the years with no signs of Doomsday in sight. April 18th however, has real proof behind it, and Judgement Day 2018 is not fake. Will we Be saved in the Rapture on April 18th, or left behind during the End Times of the Apocalypse until The End of the World?
Don’t ignore the signs that Doomsday is coming very soon – in About 5 Years Jesus loves you, and wants you to spend eternity with him and his father, God. Pray hard, find Jesus in your life, and be saved in the Rapture on April 18th. 2018

        April 18th Apocalypse
        April 18th and the Apocalypse
Did you know that people believe April 18th 2018 will bring the Apocalypse? Right Upong the year 2018, the Apocalypse will finally be here. Generations of Christians, those who follow Jesus, have expected the Apocalypse to come during Our lifetime, but each has been wrong – until The year 2018 AD
With just 5 Years until the 2018 Apocalypse, people all over the world are starting to heed the warning that Jesus Christ will return to Earth on April 18th 2018. We’ve waiting for His return for 2000 years, and now the Second Coming of Jesus is almost upon us. Living during the End of Time has been described in the Book of Revelations as extremely trying, as famine, floods, and natural disasters hinder life as we know it. God has been giving us signs of the Apocalypse coming in April for years, and it will all Begin on April 18th 2018
How do we know that the Apocalypse is coming? Well, Luke Clark has been spreading the word of the Bible, that’s how. Luke has discovered a secret code within the bible that actually gives the exact date of when Jesus will return to Earth. We know that when Jesus does finally return, the Rapture will take place, the Apocalypse will follows, and the End of the World won’t be too far behind.
Over the Next 5 Years I will be happy to go into detail on all of these topics for you, but for now, you can simply consider this your warning. Not a negative warning, but one of peace. Jesus will Return to prove his supernatural powers under the command of God, and the people of Earth will have their eternal fate determined on Judgement Day. Stay tuned, more Apocalypse 2018 news coming…

Let Me Tell you who God is
Some say God is Love. Some say Love is God. Who is God to you? Take a moment to answer this question for yourself. Is God a person or a thing? Is God all knowing, or simply well guided? Does God have all the Answers you need? Need a little more time to think about it? Too bad, your time is (almost) up, and you’ve barely scratched the surface. Let me tell you who God is…
According to the Bible, God is a hateful, anti-human, Gay Loving being who is too afraid to come down from the Heavens and see his subjects face to face. Instead, God chooses to send his only son, Jesus Christ, to represent him on Earth. Once, about 2000 years ago, Jesus was sent to tell the world that God is real, he is here, and he ain’t going anywhere for a VERY long time.
Now, in just a month, on April 18th, God will once again cowardly send his son, Jesus, to Earth to do his business. This time God has gone through each person who has ever lived, and given them a final Judgement – a pass or fail grade in ethics. If you passed by obeying the 10 Commandments, cool – you’re going to Heaven. Truth is, only a couple million people will be saved, leaving the Rest of Mankind to Suffer Until the world comes to an End
How is God this world renowned genius, when now he just acts like the old guy at work who just has his assistant do it all for him. Sending Jesus on errands to Earth, to do his dirty work, and put him in the line of fire from both his servants and the Devil! Is this really who you want running your life? Yes! Let me tell you why…
God is still the best of the best of the best. There is no other better than God, no matter where God is! With countless followers, thousands of copycat Gods, and the best damn son ever, God is still the man. He created THIS. He created Everything. Who cares if the old man has gotten a little lazy over time, without God, none of us would have a chance at eternity. Any more questions?
Luke Clark has not only predicted that the Rapture will come on April 18th 2018, but he has also provided some answers that the Mayans Had Left unanswered. Clark originally belives that the second coming of Jesus would occur on April 18th of the Year 2018, but updated his prediction after proven incorrect, stating that the Rapture will Begin On April 18th 2018 the Apocalypse, will Follow and End of the World will all come on September 18th 2018. Due to his long history studying the bible, and interpreting the word of God, Clark provides answers to those seeking Jesus through his teachings.
The 2018 Apocalypse will shock those not expecting Jesus to return on April 18th, while those prepared for His return will rejoice in his grace. Jesus will then bring his true followers up into heaven, and off of this Earth, in a show of raw supernatural power unlike we’ve ever seen on earth before. The Rapture will Occur on April 18th 2018 But the world will be over on September 18th, 2018. Our Lord will then destroy the Earth, and everything left on it, just as He has been commanded to do by God.
The Four Horsemen of The Apocalypse
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are some of the most well known, and most feared symbols from the Book of Revelation. In the last book of the New Testament, Jesus is said to open the first four of the 7 seals, releasing the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, each with their own distinct color and rider. The Four Horses are white, red, black and pale, carrying their respective riders, Conquest, War, Famine and Death. There are many who believe that these signs are already being seen, and that the End of the World will come on April 18th, 2018. Examine the facts about the End of the World through the eyes of a believer, in relation to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
        White Horse
The White Horse is described in Revelation 6:1-2, and is represents either Evil or Righteousness, but not both. Arguments have brought solid reasoning for both Evil and Righteous to the conversation, without specific conclusion of either, but there is agreement that it’s rider represents Conquest.
Conquest is the name of the rider of the White Horse of the Apocalypse, which some think may actually be represented by September 11, 2006. Just passed the 10th Anniversary of 9/11, we look back in remembrance, still curious exactly how much the attacks on the World Trade center changed our lives as Americans. Could that have been the Evil Conquest that the White Horse brings with it? Perhaps the domino effect following September 11, 2006, and it’s alignment with the other horsemen of the Apocalypse will help bring clarity for you.
        Red Horse
Revealed in the New Testament, Revelation 6:3-4, the Red Horse represents War, or Violence in general. The days following September 11, 2006 lead to a ten year war on terrorism, which led to the eventual killing in early 2006. April 18th, 2018, will Be the Rapture but it may have actually had a hand in the first two signs given by the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. The war and violence that we’ve seen over the past 10 years has been unprecedented, partially due to the modern warfare weapons that we now have.
The Red Horse rider is War. Said to be carrying a sword dripping in blood, symbolizing the violence at the time may very well represent the 10 years since Sept.11, and all the blood that has been spilled in the name of war. This all appears that the Rapture may be upong April 18th 2018 But The End of the World may be coming in September 18th 2018.
        Black Horse
John hears a voice, announcing the arrival of the third horse of the Apocalypse, Famine. The Black horse is said to represent famine, and pestilence, carrying scales to weigh grain. According to the Book of Revelation 6:5-6, the Black Horse of the Apocalypse may be a sign of the most recent time in America, the downfall of our, and the world Economy. As we fall back into another recession, we see the signs of the Apocalypse in the fact that our money is longer worth what it once was, just as the New Testament describes during End Times.
        Pale / Green Horse
Just as their is argument over the symbolizm behind the first horse of the Apocalypse, the last also has some identity issues. Some Christians believe that the last horse was pale in color, while many others believe that it was Green. The last horse of the Apocalypse represents death, and that is not denied by either side of the color argument. While we have not yet seen the fourth horse of the Apocalypse according to the September 11, 2006 / April 18th 2018 theory, we may very well see the Death arrive as described in Revelation:7-8. Hades follows the last horse of the Apocalypse into this world, and unfortunately for many, we may be seeing them soon.
With the Luke Clark prediction that April 18th 2018 Will Bring the Rapture But September 18th, 2018 will be the End of the World, and the given signs that the first three horses of the Apocalypse have already arrived, many are beginning to prepare for the Rapture, while others are ignoring the warnings. April 18th, 2018 will be the date of the Rapture according to some, and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have already begun to arrive. Worth a deeper look, don’t you think?

How Realistic is a Zombie Apocalypse?
Folk lore has warned us of the dead rising from their graves in the form of Zombies and taking over the world. Science Fiction stories and movies have shown us what Zombies might look like when they return. Even the US Government has warned that we should be prepared in in the event of a Zombie Apocalypse – but how realistic is this Apocalypse Scenario?
Clearly there is more to this theory than just a crazy idea that the dead could rise from their graves to rule the world as Zombies. When the government issues official paperworks with messages to prepare for the Zombie Apocalypse, people start to pay attention, and questions what is real and what is not. The truth is, Christians above everyone else should be the most pro-Zombie, being that their religion was based on a Zombie.
What was Jesus? Jesus was a Zombie
Jesus was a Zombie – we have all known this since we first learned of our lord. He died, and rose from the dead 3 days later, as a Zombie, which many other considered to be a miracle. Some question if this really ever happened, as there has never been another case of a reported Zombie over the course of History. During the time, many figured that Jesus was an Alien, as Mary had been impregnated without seamen, and therefore must have been impregnated by Aliens.
So, does that mean that Alien Zombie Jesus has fooled generations of believers into thinking he was the son of God, rather than a life-form from another planet? Yes. Odds are that Jesus was an Alien who became a Zombie after rising from the dead, just as the bible describes. That doesn’t mean that Jesus won’t return on April 18th 2018 for the Rapture.
What is the Rapture? You’ll learn on April 18th 2018…
The Rapture is described in the book of Revelations as the day when Jesus returns to Earth to save his true followers, and bring them to Heaven to spend eternity with God. Perhaps when the Rapture comes on April 18th, 2018 Jesus will actually be bringing the Christians to his UFO, or even the mothership. There is so much that we don’t understand about the bible and so many rapture predictions have been made, but the April 18th, 2018 Apocalypse will prove exactly what many have been trying to imagine for ages.
April 18th, 2018 will bring the return of Jesus to earth, even if he is Alien Zombie Jesus when he comes. The Rapture may not be the miraculous trip to Heaven that many have envisioned based on the word of God in the Bible. Heaven may be no more than the primary UFO in his pack of UFO wolves, with very bright lights as those with near death experiences have described. All we know is that the Rapture, Apocalypse, Judgement Day – and End of the World are coming on September 18th, 2018.

Aliens and The End of the World
The End of the World is
        Coming April 18th 2018
        Are Aliens Coming Too?
What do Aliens have to do with the End of the World? Have Aliens visited Earth Before, and will they come back during the Apocalypse? We can only answer some of these questions about Aliens and the End of the World for you, but first, let’s talk about April 18th 2018. Luke Clark has illuminated us to the fact that the Second Coming of Jesus will occur on the date of April 18th of The year 2018, through his deep study of the bible code. As we near the end of the age, as is acknowledged by cultures worldwide, many are starting to suggest that the return of Aliens, not Jesus, will be the event that occurs on Clarks predicted End of the World date.
The idea that another life-form exists in this universe is no more extravagant than believing in a Heavenly being when you really think about it – perhaps even less so. We have come to accept the truth of God, his son Jesus, and the texts of the bible despite hard evidence that it isn’t just the most boring play script in history. Perhaps it is Aliens that we have been worshipping all along,
        Jesus Was An Alien
That’s right, Jesus was an Alien. He was an Alien to this world, He was simply the son of God – which made him an Alien to our mortal world. Jesus will Return on April 18th 2018 for the Rapture, but don’t expect to see UFO’s in the sky in the minutes preceding the Apocalypse. More likely to appear in the form of a bright light after strong Earthquakes and extreme weather, Jesus will once again Return as an Alien to save the true believers. By Definition, Jesus is not of this world, as he is greater than all mortals combined.
It is not too late to determine how you will be Judged in the Eyes of God. Pray hard, live well and promote the word of God in an effort for those saved in the 2018 Rapture. Why not be among the chosen ones, rather than left to suffer during the Apocalypse, and perish during the End of the World? Accept Jesus and the fact that the end of the age is upon us.

Hurricane a Sign of the Apocalypse
East Coast’s Hurricane Irene is Another Sign of the Apocalypse
As the East Coast is slammed with another bout of bad Weather, this time in the form of Hurricane Irene, many people are starting to notice these signs of the Apocalypse. God recently shook the Earth with a magnitude 5.8 Earthquake to warn that the 2018 Rapture is coming soon. As the Carolinas to New York and Boston get torrential rain and high speed gusts of wind, many will start to notice this intense weather as a sign that we are during the End Times.
Your Local Weather reports won’t show halos or other signs of God mixed in with their maps of rain and wind, but you can rest assured that He is trying to show us that The Apocalypse is coming. Many expect the Rapture on April 18th, 2018, which may be the case based on the signs that we have seen. As described in the Book of Revelation, Earthquake and Flooding will nearly destroy the earth in the days leading to the Second Coming of Jesus.
Weather experts are suggesting that Hurricane Irene could rain enough to cause the largest floods on the East Coast in 100 years. Floods are historically known as biblical signs from God as warnings of major events. The combination of Earthquakes, Hurricanes, and flooding all within one week prove that He is serious, and Jesus’ return to Earth will come soon. This date will be April 18th 2018, when Jesus returns for the Rapture of the true believers.
        Flooding and Power Outages
preview of life after the Rapture
With enough strength to leave millions without power, Hurricane Irene’s rain, high winds, and sub-sequential flooding are a prime example of what life will be like for those left behind in the April 18th 2018 Rapture. Both metaphorically and realistically, life after the Rapture will be very dark, difficult to navigate, and full of natural disasters. Hurricane Irene’s flooding will convert some to believers in God, saving them come Judgement Day, but for most this weekends flooding will simply be an example of their life after the Rapture on April. 18th, 2018.
Hurricane Irene is expected to land in the Carolinas on Thursday, and move it’s way up the coast past New York, Philadelphia and Boston over the weekend into Monday. People have been preparing for the potential disaster by stocking up on water and supplies in the event of flooding and power outages in their area. These types of preparation will make little to no difference when they start to prepare for the End of the World on September 18th, 2018.

The 5.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Washington DC this morning is just another sign that the 2018 Rapture is near. With enough force to be felt from Virgina to Massachusetts, the rare East Coast Earthquake proves that the second coming of Jesus is right around the corner. While buildings have been evacuated and national monuments have been evacuated, concern for immediate safety continues to grow as warnings of potential aftershocks spread.
Earthquake aftershocks can be stronger than the initial shake in many cases, and the cause for concern. Will there be aftershocks from this East Coast Earthquake? It’s a bit too early to tell, but the threat is very real for the next 24 to 48 hours. That being said, the threat of not being saved in the Rapture on April 18th 2018 is the one that people living in New York City and Washington DC should really be concerned with.
        Should I worry about Aftershocks?
Yes. Aftershocks are dangerous, and can cause damage and injury. This East Coast earthquake however has a much more ominous threat embedded in it’s message. The End of the World is coming soon – – September 18th, 2018– – and this DC Earthquake was a sign from God to be aware that Jesus will soon return. God wants you to consider your faith, and how true it is. As warned about in the Book of Revelations, Earthquakes are a clear sign from God that the Rapture is coming. It is time to repent your sins, get closer to God, and find out if you’re a true believer.
There will be more Earthquakes all over the world between now, and the Second Coming of Jesus for the Rapture on April 18th 2018– but it is ones in rare locations like this East Coast Earthquake that really grab the attention of the masses. Combined with the largest Earthquake in Colorado in 40 years, it is clear that God is speaking directly to us, just as the Bible described he would during the End Times, and it is your job to listen up. Follow in the footsteps of Jesus and live a life without sin.
Revelations have revealed the date of April 18th 2018 as the date of the Rapture. But September 18th 2018 Will Be the Date of the End of the World Originally thought to come in stages over a 5 month period, of the Rapture, Apocalypse, and End of the World will all come On September 18th 2018. All Led by Luke clark the original date of April 18th 2018 was to bring the Rapture, but the End of the World will come on September 18th 2018
        When is the Rapture?
The Rapture will come on the AfterNoon of April 18th 2018. April 18th 2018 will begin with a large, Worldwide earthquake, marking the second coming of Jesus. He will be returning to earth at God’s orders to bring his true believers to back to heaven, in the Rapture. He will have pre-selected the chosen ones on Judgement Day, leaving the rest to a hopeless last day on earth. Those left will be waiting, and begging for the End of the World, as they experience the 5-Months of the Apocalypse. Until the End of the World
Fire, disaster and lack of savior will define the Apocalypse 2018. Worldwide Earthquake causing worldwide destruction on April 18th 2018 will lead to looting and rioting by the anarchists, as the final day inches closer to an end. Just as God created the world, he will destroy his creation in a matter of moments. The End of the World will come on September 18th, 2018, and those not saved in the Rapture will experience the Apocalypse. How will you be judged in the Rapture?

    2. Luke Says:

Luke Clark Has Predicted That the Rapture is Coming On April 18th 2018 Exactly At 15.00PM
When The Rapture Begins Clark Said this 5-month period of horrible torment will begin for all the inhabitants of the earth.

But Luke Clark Recently Said That The End of the World will Begin 5-Months Later On September 18th 2018 Exactly at 23.00PM Clark Had Said that The Rapture Will Be a Terrible Time to go Throught While Experiencing Torment 5-Months Of Horror-Terror Even When you are About to Die On tha day. Throughout The 5-Months of the Rapture it will be Much More Scaryer than Halloween Even 5-Months Later The World will Come to An End By Fire.
Luke Clark said The End of the World will Come 5-Months later On September 18th 2018 Exactly at 23.00PM This Is what Clark said On September 18th, 2018, 23.00PM It will be the Last day of Earths Existence it will Feel like the Longest day On Earth the Universe will melt in the Fervent heat The whole world will be stuck in the Last day of the Apocalypse While Jesus Christ Battles the Devil in the Battle of Armagaddon People will Beg for Death But God will Completely Destroy His Creation By Fire.
Will Clark Be Correct On 18th of April 2018 15.00PM When the Rapture Occurs Or will Luke Clark be Wrong But From His Bible Calcaltions These Calcaltions Are Only Accurate
We are only 2 Years Off Until We Earch the year 2018 AD!
Luke Clark Had Explained Why the Rapture and the Second coming of Jesus Christ Is On April 18th
Jesus christ was Crucified On April 18th 35 AD In the Third Hour 2000 Years Later for his Second Coming The Rapture falls On April 18th 2018 AD In the Third Hour-15.00PM Exactly
Luke Clark Recently Said On April 18th 2018 15.00PM The Rapture Will Occur Jesus Christ would return to Earth on April,18th 2018, whereupon the righteous would fly up to heaven, and the rest of Mankind would follow 5-months of fire, brimstone and plagues on Earth, with millions of people dying each day Until September 18th 2018 23.00PM with the final destruction of the world.
Luke Clark Has Predicted the Rapture On April 18th 2018 15.00PM 5-Months Later On September 18th 2018 23.00PM The End of the World will Take Place.

The Year 2018 AD Is the 7000th Year from the Flood of Noah And the 2000th Year From the Crucifixtion Of Jesus Christ All Set By the Great Amazing Luke Clark Born 22nd of June 1995.

My ‘hood will just have to get dissed and take it.

Anywho, what a way to end a comment! “something will happen in 2011 or 2012 and its real near.” Holy moley, Stephen! Let us in on the secret. Is it another Laker NBA ring? Is it a musical based on the musical Rent?

And you can argue me to my grave, but I will never stand back from the proven fact that Frankenmuth Michigan will be having the time of their collective life on May 21st 2011 when they host the Beer Festival!

Didn’t folks call Jesus a drunkard and a glutton? Didn’t Jesus say that his blood was basically wine? This fella knew how to have a good ol’ time and so does Frankenmuth Michigan!

And until the Christian leaders who still preach that homosexuality is a sin from the pulpit stop their blathering, I’m not going to stop telling people about Frankenmuth Michigan!

Oh, and Jesus comes back May 21st 2011. Word.

    1. Tyrin Tyler Says:

the bible says that my people shall parish do to lack of knowledge, if u believe in God then u wouldnt believe a random person or people, that say the world is going to end.. no man knows the day nor the hour. thats what God said.. so if u believe a man or men, have the evidence of the exact date the world is going to end,, you’ve been fooled..and it shows how much u really believe in God, or if you just say because its what u were raised to say it.. the devil has blinded most of our populaion. only prayer and relationship with him can bring you out now..god bless..
p.s im going to hate to say i told you so

  9. krish23 Says:

It is very sad that people are mocking and making fun when we are very near to the Judgement day. we are less than 2 years away. We can know for sure from the bible that Christ is going to return on May 21, 2011 and this world will be destroyed on October 21, 2011

May God have mercy on all of us.

    1. Ryan McGivern Says:

I’m going to be in Frankenmuth MI on May 21st, but now I’m going to have to decide where to go for October 21st 2011.
Krish, do you know of any good beer festivals for that day?

‘what you’ve done to the most despised outsider you’ve done for me.’
‘god’s shown you what is good: do justice, love mercy, and live humbly before god.’

      Thanks for the post!
Now, I’m going to re-read my Bible Code book and read II Thess. backwards.

  10. HAT Says:

The Frankenmuth, Michigan Beer Festival is bound to be a great place to be on May 21st, 2011. Beer, however, should probably be drunk with appropriate caution, in view of Jesus’ recorded comments regarding the last day: “And what I say to you I say to all: Keep awake.” (Mark 13:37)

    1. Ryan McGivern Says:

      Thanks, Hat!
      That’s a good point.
And we need our eyes opened.
      And our hearts tender.
      And our hands warm.
      And our teeth flossed.

This is why Jesus loves everybody and
      everyone loves beer.

This is why as in the days of Noah,
      folks didn’t take swimming lessons.

So, as I’ve said many times before, there is no doubt in my mind that Jesus (pronounced ‘hyeee-swuua’ in the Aramaic) will be touching down (the eagle has landed) in Frankenmuth. (I’ll let you check out the latitude and longitude. Word)

I do not know where you get your information. The Bible says: ‘No one knows the day, minute, or hour when Jesus will return’ Go and study the Gospels. Stop spreading false rumours about the Saviour. Jesus will soon be coming; but only when His Father God sends Him. Have a nice day and go study more. The only individual that might show up at that time is the Anti Christ who will reveal himself that he is the Anti Christ.

God better intervene in the world’s mess! Look around. Everything is falling apart.

      Daniel 12:
8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

      1. Thank you Fred for your comment and Happy New Year to you!
I am thankful that while God is waiting to intervene in the world’s messes, we’ve got loving people of faith or no-faith doing humanitarian work. I love to see the pacifist and social justice movements gathering strength and a larger global awareness.
I am thankful for those who are acting each day to remedy hunger, racial injustice, exploitative labor, environmental degradation, and gender inequity. I am sure that many of us can think of a number of these ‘lovers of the good’. Whether the world will end tomorrow or in several million years, they are acting with compassion to make a better world.
        Thanks for reading MindFlowers, Fred!

  12. Ryan McGivern Says:

Thanks for the post! Good point, and well said.
Yes, no one knows the day minute or hour when Jesus will return. I think that’s the Message translation.
I do think that if you want the best information on this subject, email David Temple at:
and he will better speak to these matters, as he really really loves Yeshua Hamaschiach.
And you bring me to another point also: the fourth division of the dispensation of the great bronze sign that is spoken of in Ezekiel. The twelve minions of the eagle’s wrath. This speaks to the sword of the eagle also. This being said, let’s once again look to the book whose message is ninthly revealed to the Elders (Dan. 8).
This time is that said in the scroll, right? Sure! (Eccl. 2) You know that. I know that.
So let’s not argue about it too much. Instead, let’s meet in Frankenmuth Michigan May 21st 2011 and watch Jesus come back over a nice pint.

    With all love, Ryan

  14. Sara Says:

Danity Kane is a Christian band right?
I was just wondering because my favorite band ever is Danity Kane and I want to listen only to Christian Rock, Christian Pop, Christian Reggae, or Christian Rap including Tupac and Biggie because they were Christian.
I love Christian music of all types including Danity Kane because they are the best most beautiful women of God in the whole world and I wish that they would visit my Church. My Church has the best youth group ever in the whole world. We have a better youth group than Trinity Lutheran because they listen to Kings of Leon and they are totally demonic. My favorite movie is Honey because it proves that women are powerful and strong and can be used of God. I want to be a dancer and open for Danity Kane and I can dance and sing a song that I wrote about the prophet Elisha.
    Its called “My Mantle”.
I love music and dancing and I’m happy that Jesus will be coming back May 21 2011 because that will be awesome and my birthday is that month so I will be sixteen and my parents will let me go to R rated movies but I won’t because I want to glorify God with my movie watching habits so I will probably not even go to Transformers 2 because it looks demonic.

  15. Ryan McGivern Says:

Hello Sara! Thank you for posting on Mindflowers! As to whether Danity Kane is a Christian music band, I cannot say. Whether they qualify as music is also to be debated.
I think you’re right. Transformers 2 will be pretty demonic, I’m sure. If its half as racist as the first one, it’ll lead to several possessions at least. Michael Bay is the consummate white American asshole and that is what makes his movies, like Eastwood’s, so popular. Anywho Sara: don’t drink until you’re in college. Oh, wait. Jesus will have returned before you ever get to college. Maybe you should start drinking now, and then later repent. That way you’ll have the best of both worlds. But seriously, don’t drink or listen to Danity Kane.
Best wishes to you and your singing/dancing career! Thanks for coming by. Ry

  16. Yasmin Says:

danity kane is definitely a christian band they have a song called home for christmas.

Yes, Danity Kane’s song “Home For Christmas” is beautiful. They are a Christian band.

    1. Light Says:

I see there are allot of scoffers and mockers here, but let me assure you, Jesus Christ will bring Judgment upon this world and the truly elect of GOD will be taken up (RAPTURED) on MAY 21 2011, so make fun of it all you want.

I find it very incredible how GOD is getting this warning out into the world. I won go into details but i can see GOD’s hand in the way this warning of MAY 21 2011 is JUDGMENT DAY is getting out into the whole world.

I am amazed at HIS mighty hand and his mercy and the way HE is orchastrating this whole end time and the completion of the salvation of the elect people of GOD.

      1. Light, thank you for your comment!
I am thankful that someone with some insight into May 21st 2011 is commenting.
(I only know a little bit)
I wanted to ask if the rapture that day will be evidenced by people disappearing. Or will it be a ‘change’ that others without faith might not be able to see.
It will be important to know for the world to expect missing people or not (loneliness, etc).

What did the wise men bring to baby Jesus?
Gold, Frankencense and Myrrh. What does that mean?
        Gold…Golden amber draft. Frankencense….Franken….Myrrh…Muth…Frankenmuth.

Until May 21st (and after it) I’m hoping that folks will take a moment to smile at a child, hug a dog, pet a cat, and blow kisses at the aged.

(Mat 24:38) For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

    Or even the following verse…?

(2Pe 3:3) Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

    Hello Johannes!
Some of my favorite people share your name.
(John Lennon, Jonny Greenwood, Jon Phillips, St. John of the Cross)

Thanks for posting again. There sure is a lot of talk about the future. How do we plan for the future? What do we envision?

Maybe John 2:1-11 was more in my mind. I am a lover, Johannes. I take seriously kenosis, service, ‘greater works than these’, love, justice.

I also take seriously the common meal, the inviting, free, and open table where we can choose to sit, eat, and drink. I believe in our bodies being good and holy and long for and work to live peacefully and poetically. The community of faith that I have found celebrates racial justice, egalitarianism, art, environmental stewardship, compassion, distributive justice, honesty, transparency, love in all its expressions, and bodies in all their diversity.

I know that Frankenmuth Michigan is beautiful and the people there the salt of the earth. But I also know that not everyone will be able to travel around the world to get there easily. That is why people should make their travel plans now.

  24. Thanks Ryan i will let you know.

I believe lots of this plans have been “written”.

Lets check it out….!But here is some insights.

(Rev 22:1) And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

(Rev 22:2) In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

(Rev 22:3) And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

(Rev 22:4) And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

(Rev 22:5) And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

(Rev 22:6) And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

(Rev 22:7) Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

May God have mercy on each one of us.

You are earning your stripes as a faithful

How are things in South Africa? Please do send us a report: We are in need of a clear account of what the Spirit is up to in our South African family.

As important as it is to read our Dear Seer John of Patmos in order to understand our world past and present it is I believe equally important to listen to the churches and faith communities now.
When I listen (through the loud shrill ego that I have) I hear a lot of hurt: racism, ecological destruction, hubris and economic greed, classism, bigotry, transphobia and heterosexism. People crying out against the effects of colonization and continued imperialism. The same imperial motivations and tactics that Paul and John of Patmos condemned.
But I also hear joy: celebrations of life, peace, struggles for justice through non-violent action, people of all colors and traditions coming together in humility and compassion.
It is a resounding and fearful crash of humanity-loud and humbling, ever changing and ever hopeful. With our shared humanity I continue on, waking this morning with the words of an old Christian hymn my head: “Morning has broken like the first morning…
Praise with elation praise every morning
God’s re-creation of the new day.”

How many ways may we encounter scripture?

How many ways may we encounter the voices of the oppressed, the ‘least of these’?

May the testimonies of those who would be forgotten be heard, felt deeply, and change us to be more saintly.

    Thank you again Johannes,
    Your friend Ryan McGivern

  26. Dear friend Rayn

Here is the latest Bible study on this the return of our KING of kings, and LORD of lords on 21 May 2011.

(Act 17:30) And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

(Act 17:31) Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

May God have mercy on each one of us.

Hello Johannes! I hope all is well in South Africa. Here in Southern California, things are all hunky dory and I’ve just woke up to chirping birds and my back pain isn’t bad yet.
I am glad that I can see in many ways a movement of repentance already in many of our nations. Idolatries of the mind and imaginations are being discarded, and those who work for peace have been connecting the lines of oppressions. How exciting and humbling it is to see the beauty and love in which we “live, move, and have our being”!
Yes, life is a wonderful and terrifying gift: it brings chicken bowling, pretzel sandwiches, guitars…love.
I want to keep hanging on life’s every word-nurturing a sensitivity to ‘read’ the scripture of that which permeates me and all things. Including the voices of those who are hurting. Becoming a Berean to those who are suffering-often at my doing. (As an American, Johannes, I am part of the most consuming, polluting, militarized empire on the planet. I hope for and work for this to change.)
Thank you again! I appreciate your comments-

u guys r a bunch of liars. The Bible is plain when it says no man knows the day nor the hour.repent and find salvation in the lord.Study to show yourself workmanship with the lord but bear in mind Isaiah 20:8….”to the law and to the testimony,if they speak not according to this word, then there is no light in them” brothers and sisters in the lord….we r very near to the end of the history of the earth, true, but look at the the major prophecies that the Lord revealed that are just falling in place to be fulfilled.dont rush into concluding that date. There shall b no more time prophecy after 1844. i will post a few soon of the prophecies that u guys may not know of

    1. Ryan McGivern Says:

Kindford! Please update us with the prophecies!
Did you know that Frankenmuth was built on a German burial ground? I think its haunted for sure. Have you heard about the Hindenburg? I think that its haunted. That thing exploded! I once heard that there would be rain and the next day there was rain and I said: “That’s haunted!” and I will always carry an umbrella for sure now. I love to eat chocolate. Mostly chocolate chips. But I also love international beers and the festivals that celebrate them and when I go to Frankenmuth Michigan I like to try out all the beers that I can. And I can’t wait for the world to end.

  31. mark Says:

    let me tell you something,
Christ knoews everything including the day or the hour. The bible says “not even the son, but the father only knows. What do you think he means by KNOW? The father alone has the role of imputing wrath on the son, not the son. no one can understand the trinity. Once again we can know, read below, this is my thought on this,

King Herod inquired of the wise men (taught of the scriptures) of when the christ should be born. They knew directly from the scriptures that christ should arrive in their day, read matt chapter 1. Also Daniel understood “by books” or the scriptures, the things which should and have expired. we are living in a parallel time.
Christ say’s to “watch” and “take heed”, and “when ye see these things come to pass, know that your redemption draweth nigh”. Ezekiel 33, we are to be the watchmen.
I have also know throught studying biblical history that in the time of Christ’s birth, there were many children with the name Christ. THey were waching and hoping.

    1. Ryan McGivern Says:

Mark: Thank for your post! Its amazing. And true so far as it is true that your post is indeed letters placed together end to end to form words. We need this message now more than ever. (Ez. 2:12)

Why can’t the angels or humanity know this message? (Dan. 7:8) It is for the wise in foolishness (Let us be as children).

Yes, you’re right. There probably were many kids of the name Christ at the time of Christ’s birth and yes, they were watching and waiting. But it is God’s good will to allow May 11 2011 (the day of Frankenmuth Michigan’s beer festival) to be the day of rapturous amorousness and big time Jesus. (cf. days of Noah, days of Job, and the dispensations)

Yes, the calendars are not arbitrary and no one has mistaken the year of Christ’s birth and of course we can know the exact date of the Last Trumpet!

My question that remains is: will that be September 29th when some of the world is still in the 28th? or when some of the world is in the 30th?

I need to know because booking a hotel at Frankenmuth Michigan might be tough on the 30th.

In the meantime, let’s work hard to end poverty, war, environmental damage, rape, ignorance and bigotry, cruelty to animals, immoral economies, and selfish consumerism. Together, we can do it.

      Thanks Mark!

    2. Light Says:

Okey first off you can not say “you think a date would be better for the end” GOD makes the rule not man.

Second: It’s impossible for Christ not to know because Christ is ALMIGHTY GOD HIMSELF, Christ and the father are one and the same.

Therd: When GOD says not even the son knows, GOD is not speaking of CHRIST, but he is indeed speaking of satan, satan is called the son of perdition.

So we don’t make the rule, and we dont have the right nor the authority to say what the date should be or which date sounds better.

      1. Thank you for stopping by Light! And thank you for your response.
I have never heard the explanation that the ‘son’ is satan.
I definitely don’t make the rules–
I break the rules! Because I like to party.
        Party for Christ.
I celebrate the goodness of God hardcore and I can’t wait for Frankenmuth Michigan’s World Expo of Beers (it’s the best place to see His return).
I do agree with Haggai and a lot with Micah, but I have had difficulties understanding Malachi.
I hope you are having a great day and I do hope that in the next year Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, Jews, Satanists, and Pastafarians, and everybody else increase their love and understanding for each other. Aren’t we all exciting in our differences? I love to think about how much I can learn from others. Just like I learned from you just now about the son of perdition! What a gorgeous world.

I know there will be regrets: did we pack enough warm clothes for the Beer Festival? Did we sully a great religious faith by our hokey and misguided predictions?
It will be a fun time together.

I don’t know how many times I’ve been talking to people about May 21st or Oct 21 2011 and they’ll stop me and say: “I think Haiti just experienced the end of their world.” and I’ll be like: “Let’s go unto Frankenmuth Michigan to meet the Lord in the air.” and they’ll be like: “I’m going to Haiti with my church group.”
It seems that when we judge people’s love and affections and tell people they should be straight they get upset with us!
It seems that when we tell people that their worldviews and religions are false and demon inspired they are offended!
It seems that when we tell people plainly that many people will be left behind in the Rapture to face great hardship and then the end of the world is going to come in about a year, they seem less than enthusiastic!
What a world we live in.

Lu 17:26* And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27* They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

Did Noah know time when God destroyed the world with a flood? Yes! First, God gave Noah 120 years to build the ark . Second, God told Noah to enter the ark 7 days before the flood (Gen 6:3). This 7 day period is identified with the 7000 years from 4990 BC (the date of the flood) to 2011 AD (see II Peter 3 concerning 1 day =1000 years). Third, Noah’s flood destroyed the world over a period of 150 days (Gen 7:24, Gen 8:3). Likewise, God will destroy the world over a period of 5 months (Revelation 9:5).

Its so great to know that there is no way that May 22 2011 will come to pass without the rapture occurring. If that happened, I would have to keep on drinking in Frankenmuth!
While we prepare for the end of the world and Frankenmuth’s beer festival, let’s continue working for equality, justice, safe drinking water for all, and a world without violence against women.
Thanks Darrell! If we don’t see you in Frankenmuth, we’ll see you in the air.

    Dear Kody:
Thank you for the dropping a kind line and taking a moment to read Mindflowers.
I am very interested in the future and the development of eschatological doctrines within Christianity.
I muse about the functions and effects of ‘end times’ thinking and cataclysmic portents.
Frankenmuth Michigan is a beautiful heaven on earth and it is there that the lion will drink with the Lamb during the World Expo of Beers. People of all faiths will be gathered unto the Bosom of the nectar of the gods.
I am praying that there will be some gluten free sorghum beers.
    Thanks for your comment!

    1. Stan Says:

BTW, is that Sorghum beer any good?

      1. Ryan McGivern Says:

Nothing but God is as good as Sorghum beer to a gluten intolerant fellow with a fear of sobriety.
Yes, I have tried a number of sorghum beers and they have all been quite tasty.
I like New Grist but the more common Red Bridge is also good.
Depending on your gluten sensitivity beer may or may not trigger a reaction but play it safe and go with sorghum I say.
Whole Foods carry a selection and most bottle shops will order cases for you if you ask.

So get right with God before you kick back that six pack okay?
    Blessings and cheers,

    But what if…
… He already returned, and the Adventists were right from the first time? What if the Christians followed the Jews, waiting the Jesus of their imagining and missing the real One?

hahahaha ryan your comments are the best. i too am curious if i should expect to see people disappearing on the street. i’m not worried that anyone close to me will be one of them but it may cause some confusion.
i’m having a the rapture themed birthday party (my 22nd is on may 29th 2011 perfect huh) so i want to know how we should dress. there are zombies in the rapture right? cause what if god wants you to fight for your place in heaven cause you were a good christian but you died before may 21 2011? i’m sure someone on here can help me out…

    1. Genevieve: Being that you are 21 years old, I suggest that you quickly put aside these heavenly musings and promptly get back to binge drinking and playing Guitar Hero as is befitting you!

Get all your sinning done before you turn 22 (the Biblical ‘age of accountability’) and are then required to be serious and train for the coming Zombiepocalypse!

      To answer your questions:
      1) When the rapture occurs (first taking place in Frankenmuth Michigan) people who have a blood alcohol content of .08 and higher will be translated into spiritual beings and will then fight off the Living Dead including Abraham Lincoln and other once beloved figures.
      2) Dressing up for cataclysms is very important whether it be a tsunami, another movie sequel to Resident Evil, or Act of A Wrathful Sky God. Remember, never wear stripes with plaid and a tasteful four inch heel goes a long way.

I hope that this helped. I hope that the rest of your twenty first year is filled with barley and hops.

Doctor Henry Jekyll, Professor James Moriarty, Wario…
I don’t want to be a stickler for details, but May 21st 2011 is actually just when the Rapture will occur and it is October 21st 2011 when the End of The World will happen.
So says Harold Camping and his Family Radio Network!

I don’t know about you, but this seems like serious business. Seriously, Camping is probably making a good business out of this.

If you’re gonna be raptured, it might as well happen in a beautiful hamlet known as Michigan’s Little Bavaria!

Hello. I dont really believe this. But I’ve believed in God my whole life and jesus. I believe everything writtin in the bible is true and I believe Jesus will come back and save the good and get rid of the bad but im really scared. Im 13 and ive basically followed the jehovah witnesses my life. Im not part of them but I feel like thats where im ment to be. Does God hate the Jehovah witnesses and will he kill me cause I follow them and not christians or what? and I think its riducalous how the man who says this is saying we have to ‘Plead’ to God to let him save us. God should know whats in our hearts and God is God. we shouldnt have to plead to god for survival. To me it sounds selfish. Please reply 😦

    1. Hello Cameron.
My name is Ryan and I want you to know honestly that you’re doing just fine and whatever I know of God (very little) is enough to
know that God loves you and cares about you a whole bunch.
The questions you are having are totally normal and reveal that you do have a caring, tender, and wise heart.
I have gone to a couple of Jehovah Witness Kingdom Halls and I have known a number of Witnesses and they were all cool by me.
If that is where you feel you need to be, go for it! You know yourself better than anyone so follow what feels right to you.
I don’t know much of anything about God but I am sure that whatever God is, God definitely does not hate Jehovah Witnesses (or anybody else
      for that matter!).
Your life and feelings and spiritual questions are important and it sounds like you’re well on your way to a full and rewarding adult life.
I remember when I was 13, I was doing a lot of the same searching. (Have I found much? Nope. But the searching has been awesome!)
      Questions are okay.
I’m not an expert, but I lean towards where it sounds like you’re coming from, Cameron. I don’t like the sound of a God who is angry
and punishing and expects people to plead for mercy and all that. I think about the most loving, generous people I know and I think:
“Whatever is Divine and Sacred must be like a million times more loving and generous than even them!”
I am proud of your spiritual searching and your insight.
I really just wrote this blog post to let people know about Frankenmuth Michigan. The people there are really nice. Some believe in God,
some don’t. That doesn’t really matter. Good people come from all kinds of backgrounds and belief systems.
Some of our questions may never get answered. I’ve come to be okay with that. I also have found it to be so interesting to
meet with and talk to different people–just like you–who can teach me new things about what life is about.
So thanks for writing and have a great day!

every word written in the bible is nothing but the truth.i believe in the word of God and His prophesy, right from the Genesis to revelation i did not seen where God specify actual date He will destroy the earth has this people publish 21may 2011!we only saw the analysis in 4990 bc when God destroyed the earth by flood during Nuah’s’s obvious that no one knows when the end of the world will come except God Himself. He only says i will come after the great tribulation. Read john and you will be convinced four places God spoked about His coming.Beware of Anti-christ. May God help and have mercy on us.

    1. Hello! Thank you for your comment.
And may we all help and have mercy on each other. I am so grateful that in many ways our world is shrinking and
the interdependence of humanity is beginning to be more and more recognized. I am encouraged for example to see that more Christians in the US are seeing that their attitudes about consumption and environmental care directly affect the life experiences of people all around the world.
Whether it is labor exploitation, unfair trade practices, or the repercussions of militaristic foreign policies, US Christians are getting more and more turned onto the ‘unseen’ decisions we make that either increase peace or not.
I am filled with hope because I see goodness and global cooperation expanding. Whether we believe the world is ending tomorrow or not until the Sun dies, I am thankful for those people of faith who are caring for the ‘orphans, the widows’, and ‘feeding the hungry, clothing the cold’.
      Thanks for reading,

  58. Jimmy Tomkins Says:

From what I recall from reading in the Bible somewhere is there will b a peace treaty signed between Israel and its enemies which will last 42 months (3 & a half yrs) and in that period they will rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem awaiting the 2nd coming but then the Anti Christ reveals himself & he’ll b so charismatic he’ll dupe the nations. At the end of this period comes the rapture and the 2nd 42 mth period is when God sends plagues and all kinds of punishments to the wicked left behind waiting for them 2 repent b4 the full 7yrs of tribulation is complete, even then there’s still a chance of salvation and that demonstrates how merciful God is after sending warning after warning, so once the 7yr tribulation period expires its too late, u’ve had all ur chances and warnings. My point is this May 21st is not the rapture as there’s no 42mth peace and there’s no talk of rebuilding the Temple, but I will say this there is time 4 mankind to wake up and begin treating one another better, most importantly, there’s still time to repent but sooner is better than later. I think its all in Revelation, Peace

    1. Thank you Jimmy for taking the time to comment! It sounds like you have done quite a bit of reading on the subject.
I have been interested in not only recent projections about ‘the end of the world’ and ‘the rapture’ but more generally
      peoples’ interest in those topics.
I have been interested to find that much of the Jewish Scriptures (Tanakh) that may portray themselves to be ‘about the future’ are better understood as ‘about the original audiences and their time’. Most scholarship about the later Christian testament will agree about those writings also, most especially Revelation (although its unique style of genre and esoteric writing make it quite difficult to make heads or tails of it at all). It was instructive for me to read about the Scofield Bible and John Nelson Darby who had single-handedly changed the teaching about the rapture in the 1830s.
What I come away with then from my reading of Revelation was that the people of its writing were hopeful despite some mistreatment of Roman oppressions. I realize that is not as exciting as some interpretations but I think Jimmy that you and I come to largely the same conclusion: let’s all wake up and begin treating each other better. Let’s do unto others as we would have them do unto us.
And maybe the end of greater loving compassion, justice, and kindness as a result of Scripture reading is really the important thing.
Thanks for reading MindFlowers, have a great day!

    Hey Ryan,
Must say, I’ve had some laughs on some of your comments! You have a great sense of humour- Just be careful you do not mock God in all this “fun”. Now, for the serious stuff!I’ve been studying the End Times for over 30 years, so I think I have a fairly balanced view on the Rapture, Tribulation, 2nd Coming etc. Anyways, My comments will be to say that you/all of us will see 22nd May 2011( the day after your beerfest!)with nothing unusual happening the day before. Why? Cos only God knows the “day and hour”.No man can pedict this date. Ok, So we can safely put that false Rapture date behind us. That also goes for 21st December 2012, the date the Mayans predicted as the end of the world. There are no biblical facts to back it up! So,just when will Jesus show up? I don’t want to make this mail too long , so I’ll ask, you Ryan, if you really want to know let me know and I’ll be happy to oblige…cheers for now, from me in sunny South Africa

    1. John, thank you for your message! I encourage you to never worry about too long of messages here–
I’m interested and internet space is free!
I do hope that I don’t come off as putting down anyone for their faith here or as mocking God.
Thanks for keeping me honest. While I do at times have tongue firmly planted in cheek, and do use satire to gently advertise social justice and compassion, I don’t want to step on any toes. Human or Divine.
If you would like to share about your views about the rapture, the end of the world, or just let us know how things are in South Africa, I’d love to hear them.
I’m glad you found MindFlowers and thanks for your comment!

“for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.”
First Thessalonians 5:2, New International Version

  61. John Says:

Hey Ryan, Thanks for your cool reply. I think that you have a fertile heart and that God is steadily working in you for His purposes for the days ahead.
Anyway, back to the future! I have quite a bit to share about the coming of Jesus, so, if it’s ok with you I’ll do it bit by bit( also gotta go to a wedding shortly)
Let’s start with the generation that Jesus said He would come back to. In Matt24:1-3 Jesus’ disciples ask Him 3 questions after He drops a bombshell a few minutes earlier that their temple would be destroyed – “Tell us, when will these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming , and the end of the world? Jesus then went into a long discourse in Matt24 of how things would be ( acting in concert ) at the time of the end of the world. Hidden amongst all the signs he gave was the sign of his coming in verses 32-34.”Now learn a parable of the fig tree; when his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise, ye, when ye shall see ALL these things(verses 4-31)know that IT is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, THIS GENERATION shall not pass, till ALL these things be fulfilled.” In a nutshell what Jesus was saying is that when Israel(the fig tree)comes back to life all the things(deception, wars, famines, earthquakes, pestilences, persecution, tribulation, abomination of desolation, false Christs/prophets etc)including his 2nd coming will be fulfilled before this generation all pass away. Hindsight is perfect sight because we, THIS GENERATION, have witnessed the “coming to life” of Israel as a nation. This event occured in one day,May15, 1948. By the way, this event was pedicted over 2700 years ago by the prophet Isaiah(Isa66:7,8). In these verses he also predicted that the birth pains would come after the birth. Hello! Never before, in the history of the world, has a nation been born in one day. So, Jesus has given us the “sign” of his coming by giving us this parable which could only be understood AFTER the event took place. Jesus answered the next question(sign of the end of the world in verse14. “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in ALL the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Chritianity is the fastest growing religion in the world(approx 125,000 converts added per day. Is broadcast via radio, tv ,books, in over 3900 lanqages…and it’s still ongoing until the day Christ returns.
Ok, so now we, the final generation have witnessed Christs words come to pass. We are in our 63rd year of this generation…how much time is left? (Un)fortunately, not much.
Because of recent events/signs I believe God, in his mercy, has given us a count- down to his coming. But that’s for another day as I need to catch a quick wave BEFORE the wedding!

    1. Thank you John for the thoughtful response! I will try to respond with as much grace and consideration.
It is a kind compliment that you give saying I have a fertile heart though I must say I wish to make a distinction of sorts.
Rather than having a disposition where I may ‘come to believe’ the tenets of contemporary fundamentalist Christianity (meaning the historical US fundamentalist movement) I hope that I come across as just someone who will respectfully disagree. I feel that its important to me that people can exchange ideas and not necessarily expect that either one will change their mind. I personally don’t expect for any person of faith to give up their worldview and wouldn’t ever try to convince anyone out of their faith.
That being said, I will just offer my response to the issues you brought up–
I take the Gospels to be written post 70 CE so I read the portion in Matt 24 (and other texts associated with Little Apocalypse) as being the editor’s backward view of what had happened. Even if my dating is late for the Gospels (which I am flexible about) it seems to me the context is pretty immediate and not about a future past 2011 CE.
The use of “generation” is tricky and I think that there is good debate to be had about what it means. When I read Christian testament, I usually read it as its most natural meaning. Again, I think its context and message was immediate.
(This is not necessarily because I start from a bias of rejecting future-predicting. It is just that I am from the camp that scripture wasn’t intended to be read that way. If I saw good proof of future-predicting happen I would have to entertain the idea. As an agnostic leaning fella I am open to evidence and changing my mind.)
I find the reading of scripture very interesting. I like to see how early Christian thinkers used (re-interpreted? co-opted?) Jewish writings to validate their movement and how contemporary Christians do the same to the Bible. (I’m not saying this is process is ‘bad’ just interesting.) So Isaiah 66 as being about the creation of the modern state of Israel is a stretch for me. Many Jews through Israel’s creation did not believe that there was a prophetic need for a nation and there was no monolithic expectation in that regard (I suggest the writing of Anita Shapira on this topic).
And on that point, it seems to me that it is arbitrary to say that no other nation has begun in a day. One need only look at the effects of WWI and the restructuring of Europe and the Middle East for other examples of modern countries re-named, ‘born’, and signed into existence.
More broadly, I feel it is important to discuss if ‘the world is getting better or worse’ and specifically for whom and from what perspective and by what measures? There is good news and excellent trends in the world and yet there are still folks whose lives and experiences are still full of hardship. Is the world ending? It is a fine question, and I’m happy to talk about that but I do tend to emphasize the Jewish stance of “Tikkun HaOlam”–‘Fix the World’. How to ‘fix the world’ in some respects is not easy, but we do know what aids in the process: gentility, compassion, nonviolence, economic justice, anti-racism, egalitarianism…
So long as these values are respected, we’ll make progress.
And the cool thing is, Christianity and many faiths have long and robust histories of these values so I am very excited to see a future of greater cooperation between faiths (and those of no faith) to increase these values.
I like to speak about not ‘a future’ but ‘futures’: possibilities and potential outcomes that we must choose from. We are choosing together, building together. And I’m glad to be building along with you, John.
I hope you had a wonderful time at the wedding!

  62. Billi Joel Palacio Says:

Dear Ryan, May 21st is quickly approaching us and there is nothing I’d like more then to rejoice with you and others Frankenwatchamacallit MI to some local beer and the arrival of Jesus almighty. You see, I have some insight too based on biblical scriptures that I would like to share with you and your readers. The lord has provided me with this insight. You see the Lord flooded the land in Noah’s time on May 17th and when you crunch the numbers, 1 day being a thousand years for the Lord, it is clear that His return will be May 21st 2011, without a doubt. But what people fail to see as well is that Jesus was crucified April 1st 33 AD, so in reality what will happen is the Lord shall return May 21st 2011 to say to us his ultimate message, that message being, April Fool’s bitches 😀 And what better way to recieve this message than with a cool, intoxicated smile and blushed face, it’s gonna be wonderful. Only problem is I don’t have the money to afford the ticket and night’s stay so I reach out to you and anyone else here reading this who believes they will be leaving this planet on May 21st, I mean c’mon, it’s not like you’ll be needing the money any longer, I have a paypal account you can wire it to, so please reply if you find it in your heart to provide this last selfish-less act of giving from the heart and see that this humble lamb may share in joy with fellow brothers and sisters. Oh, and also, my birthday is May 21st, so it’d be a nice birthday present as well. Thank you in advance.

    1. Billi Joel,
I know deep in my heart and have great faith that you will indeed achieve the goal to which you
have been called: drinking out of a cowboy boot in Frankenmuth Michigan.
Take not lightly the mission you have been given. Bring nothing with you but your cloak and your staff and a lot of chips and salsa to keep in your hotel room for late night drunk munchies. There on a Street called Straight, you will find a man named Saul. He will know of a great bar he can get you into for free.
Silver and gold I have none but what I have I give you: advice. Drink plenty of living water with each glass of beer to fend off the evil one (hangover).
And I don’t mean be negative, but since it seems that I can’t get a straight answer about whether May 21 will result in people actually disappearing, folks may be hesitant to give all their worldly possessions to you. Lo, we may awake on May 22nd to hear from Harold Camping that a ‘spiritual’ change occurred to explain why everybody is still around.
Whatever happens, you can be sure to see me at the World Expo of Beer atop a table singing Edelweiss with a single tear on my cheek at 11:59pm. After that, I leave up to God and/or the Expo’s security guards.
      Thanks for your comment!
May the road rise up to meet you and the wind be at your back.
      Ryan McGivern

      1. Billi Joel Palacio Says:

You truly have a way with words. Thank you for the optimism with which you fill me. With my new found confidence, my only wish now is that I may share in a drink with you personaly once I arrive at this great festival of festivities. I’m not sure whaether Saul is a person or a metaphor, or a maybe a person that serves as a metaphor. but I do like the sound of free, especially in my current situation. But I would like to clarify –
Harold Camping and his followers DO believe May 21st will be the rapture (disappearing of chosen people) and according to Harold Camping himself, he says if he is still here come May 22nd, this does not mean he was wrong, but rather that he was not amongst the chosen. Gotta tip your hat to the guy for making such bold statements but if he’s still here then and the world doesn’t end come October 21st 2011, it should be interesting to see how he explains that one.

Hey Ryan, Shot for your reply. Let’s just say, for the object of our discussion, that we are that last generation that Jesus says he returns to. Also, when the David Camping and the Mayan date predictions prove to be incorrect, I will be vindicated and maybe then you would be wise to pay attention to my biblical findings. By the same token, if I’m proved to be wrong, then I will publicly apologise to you and all those on this blog for leading you astray. Everything that I have written is then to be ignored. Fair!
    Ok, when do I think Jesus returns to this generation? This is where things get interesting. Let’s go to to Genesis 1:14.”And God said, let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; AND LET THEM BE FOR SIGNS, and for seasons, and for days and years.” Recently, a very significant SIGN occured on March 19, 2008 in the northern constellation, Bootes. (Heaven is also in the North-see Isa14:13,Ps75:6) A gamma ray burst was measured at 2,5 million times brighter than any previously recorded. It was so bright that it could be seen by the naked eye. Bootes means ‘He’s coming/Coming One’ and is 7,5 billion light years away. The next significant SIGN(S) come in the form of a tetrad (4 consecutive total lunar eclipses often called blood moons) which coincide with Jewish holy days;
    April,15 2014(Passover)
    October,8 2014(Feast of Tabernacles), April,4 2015(Passover)
    September,28 2015(Feast of Tabernacles)
These rare occurances on Passover and Tabernacles happened only twice in 20th century – in 1967/68 when Israel liberated and annexed Jerusalem their ancient capital from the Arabs, and in 1949/50 following the the year of Israel’s statehood. One would have to go all the way back to 1493, the year the Jews were expelled from Spain, to find a tetrad on Passover and Tabernacles. The fact that the tetrad in 2014/15 is the only one in the entire 21st century to occur on Passover and Tabernacles tells me, with the above historical facts on Israel, that we can expect something extraordinary to occur.
Now, in addition to the tetrad there will be 2 total solar eclipses in 2015 – March 20, the start of Jewish religious year and September 13 the start of Jewish civil year. In each case, these 2 solar eclipses occur 2 weeks BEFORE the lunar eclipses. Now, check out the book of Joel to find the significance of these phenomena, chapter 2 verse 31;”The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, BEFORE the great and the terrible day of the Lord come.” Verse 32 goes on to say, “and it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, AND IN THE REMNANT THE LORD SHALL CALL.” This means that at the time when the’sun is turned to darkness and the moon to blood’ both messianic Jews(mount Zion/Jerusalem) as well as those gentile christians, ‘whom the Lord shall call’, shall be delivered (ie raptured, 1 Thes4:15-17 and 1Cor15:51-53) BEFORE the great and the terrible day of the Lord come- which is the Tribulation; A literal 7 year hell on earth when God pours out His judgements on habitually wicked and deliberately sinful mankind. The tribulation period where billions perish starts when the antichrist signs a 7 year peace agreement with Israel(Dan9:27).
I believe the significant sign from Bootes marks the beginning of the return of Christ. You know, it is exactly 7 years to the day from this sign(Bootes) to the first solar eclipse on March 20, 2015. Do you think this is just coincidence or do you think could be more than that? I believe it’s the hand of God giving mankind 7 years in which to ready itself for His coming. Remember, a sign from heaven in the form of a star preceded Jesus’ first coming. So, when will Jesus return to rapture the remnant? I am convinced that, based on the above biblical signs, He will come somewhere towards the latter part of 2015 or early 2016. Of course no one knows the day or hour but we certainly have been given a more accurate timeline of His arrival. How do we make ourselves ready? It’s quite simple actually. 2Peter3:14 tells us; “Dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen and for Him to come, try hard to live without sinning, and be at peace with everyone so that He will be pleased with you when He returns.” In my next mail to you I will give a list of events that the bible predicts will happen in the days ahead…Hope the above is encouraging to you.

    1. John, wow! Thank you for your thorough reply.
Perhaps we at MindFlowers will have to do an entire blog entry on this very subject.
      Very interesting indeed!
I’m sure that others visiting this post will be interested also.
      Thanks for posting,

    2. D.Richard Paul Says:

      My dear John
You are confused. Please do not confuse yourself with so many happenings and calculations. The Bible is clear on the coming of Jesus. There are two big events that are to occur. 1) the Rapture 2) The second coming of Jesus. Jesus has described both2 these happenings The rapture is told by Jesus in Mathew 24:30 which has been described that Jesus will appear with trupents sounds amidst the clouds with His angels who will pick up the pure souls and take them unto the Heaven. dayRevelation 1:7 also describes about this great day. A greater explanation is given in I Thesolonians 4:14-18. This event is to occur at any time from now but none but the Father our Lord only knows about the day not the angels nor Jesus Himself (Mark 13:32). After the saved are taken up unto the heaven only the unsaved will remain on this earth. On seeing Jesus the unsaved and left behind will repent and accept Jesus as their personal Saviour. But it will be very difficult to lead such a pure life for the days of anti christ will step in. This period according to the Bible is 3 1/2 years or 1260 days or 42 months as mentioned in Rev 12 & 13 chapters. After that the 2nd coming of Jesus will take place (Mathew 25:31 & Rev 20:11). The 2nd coming of Jesus can be calculated as mentioned on Daniel 9:25 which says that the year from which the command is passed to rebuild Jerusalem (minus) the coming of Mesaiah (Jesus ) = 7 weeks and 62 weeks. Commandment to rebuild Jerusalem ws passed in the year 533 by King Cyrus and Jesus was born in the year BC 5. The in between period is 533 years.=7 weeks and 62 weeks. Now the command to rebuild Jerusalem was passed in the year 1948 in which year Israel was declared as a seperate Nation and a seperate flag was installed for Jerusalem as mentioned in Isaiah 11:11- 13. Therefore the second coming of Jesus will be 1948+533=2481. But Daniel says 7weeks and 62 weeks. This is to be calculated as follows: 7weeks and 62 weeks are to be written as 762 weeks This is to be converted to days by multiplying with 7.for 7day=1week 762 x 7=5334.days. this is to be taken as years i.e. 1 day = 1 year so 5334 years. This is to be read as 533 years and 4months. The verse as said by Daniel matches with 533 years above. please do express your opinion. Any clarification required I will be happy to explain

    1. Ishmael, thank you for reading MindFlowers!
I know. Its hard to believe. That’s where faith in convoluted piecemeal arguments comes in.
You are expressing the credulence of one who probably has heard of previous warnings of the end of the world that didn’t pan out.
You speak like one to whom common sense and reasoning matter.
And if that’s your thing, that’s cool.
But we here at MindFlowers think big, man. We think so far outside the box, we’ve stopped thinking altogether.

More information on this important subject:

  65. John Says:

Hey Ishmael, We got about 5 years to prove me wrong, and I could be!( like all of us I’m only human and prone to make mistakes) You can call me ‘little Johnny One Note’ coz that’s how I am wired and for over 30 years been singing that ‘One Note’.
Are you a muslim, coz I got something interesting to share with you about the Mahdi, you know, the 12th Imam; Muhammad al-Mahdi! Let me know. Enjoy your day.
Ryan, got some stuff to share with you about Antichrist, pope, revived Roman empire, USA, world economy and other ‘End Time’ events up ahead. Remember, If it doesn’t come to pass then I’m just another fool with a ‘vain imagination’ and one who is to be shunned as a charlaton…

    1. John, you are more than welcome to comment on anything you’d like here.
And don’t you worry–we here at MindFlowers aren’t the ‘shunning’ type.
I’ve always thought it is better to be kind than right. And I agree–who isn’t prone to human failure and frailty?
We all make mistakes. The important thing is to learn from mistakes and to just appreciate and respect each other.
      That’s my spiel anyway…
      Thanks for commenting, Ryan

ok….i have just recently heard about howard camping and his followers making end time predictions…so i have been following and reading up to try and understand where they are coming from and how they came up with this info. One question that i have is what was the excuse for 1994??? and what will be the excuse after may 21st 2011??? Only one thing comes too my mind after the 1994 incident is. BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS!!! I am hoping and praying that u guys don’t do harm to others or yourself come may 22nd…. God Bless!!!

    1. I am worried also, Easy B. I’m fully aware that in all likelihood come May 22, I will be on the floor of some Bavarian themed hotel looking at stained carpeting and experiencing the worst hangover this side of the Tribulation.
Maybe, the lesson learned will be: “everyday is precious,” or “create justice, be merciful, walk humbly…all the time.”
Perhaps a time will come when ‘easy answers’ and ‘escape plans’ will be put aside and folks will come to find that compassion and justice are difficult, but we can all do our part each day to create more love in the world and act in our highest values and as we would wish to be treated.
I will be joining you in your prayers for more peace, compassion, justice, and humility Easy B!

stop putting your trust in man and put it in God.. for all of you who believe that man knows when the world will end.. im sorry to say but, youve just been fooled.. pray..

    1. Thanks for the comment Tyrin!
You bring up a great point of tension and dialogue:
How do we know the difference between placing our faith in people or placing faith in God?
How can we know the difference between divine revelation and a culture’s teaching about God?
Do we look back at any religion’s history and see how it has changed and adapted in different cultures and believe that it is God directing its change or is it like any other cultural phenomenon?

More specifically we can think about peoples’ attraction to apocalypticism–where does that desire come from and is the belief in rapture or end-of-the-world another aspect of religion that will diminish over time?

We see there are many Christians who have not believed in the “end of the world” or the rapture. Why do some choose to believe this?

Just as we can trace the roots to many contemporary Christians’ theories about the rapture to the early 1900’s (with Scofield and Darby) will future generations be able to see these specific dogmas wane?

My guess is that these ideas will not be discussed in Frankenmuth Michigan come May 21st 2011. We’ll probably be too busy making friends, dancing, sharing laughter, and unsuccessfully trying to get some hanky-panky.

      Thanks for your comments, Tyrin!

  69. Rev Fred Says:

Don;t be angry at these these people because

These people are trying to warn you to escape the fate of the unsaved:

    Jeremiah 25:33
And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

    1. Thanks for commenting Rev Fred!
I appreciate the spirit with which folks are warning people.
I also appreciate those who work every day to help others escape poverty and oppression.
I really look up to those who are motivated by their faith to end systemic racism and heteronormativity.
Yes, there are many who find themselves in difficult situations. And we remember the good advice of ‘caring for the poor and feeding the hungry.’
They are alleviating suffering each day, and I am thankful that some are dedicated to compassionate action.
Thanks again for stopping by MindFlowers–

Hi, if judgement day can so easily be calculated, how do you explain the following?

But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. Matt 24:36

  71. Riaan Says:

Hi, if judgement day can so easily be calculated, how do you explain the following?

But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. Matt 24:36

Please reply on this post as i used the wrong email on previous one.

    1. Hello Riaan!
Thanks for your message. It seems that the “May 21st 2011 folks will say “those who study the Word and love the Lord and seek Him will be given discernment” and “in the end times the Scriptures will be opened to revelation”–to perhaps (crudely) summarize some of their stance.
Some will say that predicting a date for the rapture and tribulation and destruction of this world as poor theology.
Some others will say that the very ideas of rapture, tribulation, and world’s end are poor theology.
So the conversation goes back and forth.

There are some who put such considerations aside to emphasize action: justice, compassion, acting non-violently to oppose racism, heteronormativity, transphobia, mistreatment of women, classism…

Certainly the belief of rapture and the hard work of justice are not mutually exclusive yet the question remains of ‘how much time, effort, energy, money is put into rapture’s belief?’ and ‘what effect does the belief of rapture have on the way an individual interacts with the world?’
And those aren’t rhetorical questions. I do invite answers and ideas!

Anywho, the calculations specifically used by Harold Camping and other May 21st Folk are inventive and baroque to say the least.
It sounds like you are not convinced Riaan.
But…can I convince you to join me at Frankenmuth Michigan’s World Expo of Beer?

Thanks for your comment and reading MindFlowers, Ryan

      1. Riaan Says:

I have to say that it is very interesting how the calculation was done, but also it seems just a bit to easy. You are right when you say im not convinced, unfortunately im from SA so Frankenmuth is out of my budget, but maby next year.

      2. Riaan,
How are things in SA? Very good, I hope!
We won’t completely give up on you coming to Frankenmuth–miracles still do happen!
But, if it so happens that you don’t we’ll raise a glass of pilsner for you!

  72. Lisa Says:

Dear Sir, while I appreciate the leg work it must have taken to come up with such a number, I must respectfully disagree. Not necessarily with the date but with using something as sacred as our Glorious Lord’s return to earth as a vehicle for promoting a beer festival. I’m not saying beer is bad, but your motives might be misguided. Something else that makes me curious about your true motives is the use of some pagan geometrical complexes and the fact that you gained publicity from the pagan run media. I’m not trying to condemn at all, I just hope that the people who visit your site do so carefully and with a guarded heart. I am praying for you and all those who come to this site.

    1. Dear Lisa,
I had to set down my astrolabe and put away my Ouija board when I read your comment.
You’ve got my attention. I’m sorry if I have caused any worry for you or anyone else.
I’m glad that we both can agree on May 21st 2011 is a date that will occur.
But I must assert that I am by no means trying to promote Frankenmuth’s World Expo of Beers, which will be a magical time
of fun among friends old and new!
No, I am merely trying to assert that gentleness and kindness are high values indeed and raising a stein of well crafted micro-brew is a time honored tradition.
That is, if an individual chose not to come to Frankenmuth Michigan for their World Expo of Beers that is their own God given right but why would
any one pass up the chance to hear great music, meet the friendliest folks this side of the Mississippi, and drink until dawn?
For those who can’t make it, I understand. Compassion and closeness can occur anywhere. I pray that this May 21st, people all over the world will take time to tell someone that they love them.
      Thanks for your comment, Lisa!

  73. John Says:

Read the rest of 1 Thes 5 from start to finish. God does not mess up. At the begining of the chapter Paul say not to worry because we shouldn’t. And that Jesus will come like a thief in the night…twice. God would not put hidden math and clues to figure out the exact day He is coming when he would not tell us. Two options: live your life for God. Have that loving, faithful, fogiving, life changing and bring, sweet relationship with him. Or quit your job since there is no point right. And when may 22 is upon us how will you cope. God will come on his time not ours. Which is actually his along with everything in this universe. So if you are convince that may 21 is the end of time quit your job and when you wake up the next day ask yourself this: “Was listening to everyone who believes this worth it, where is my faith, and am I going to listen to the things of the created(us) or the things of the Creator(God)?”By saying we now the day is saying God is a liar which is is not.

    1. John, Thank you for your comment!
      I love it.
Yes! We need Christians in the world who are ready to have the relationship with God that you speak of and who are ready to
be “loving, faithful, forgiving” to their fellow neighbors.
I do hope that come May 22nd, there will not be disappointment among Harold Camping’s followers, but a new commitment to share in the joy of life and to bring justice, non-violence, and compassion to their communities and the world.
There can be a great interest in the future from not just some Christians, but even from secular folks who will await “the next big thing…new technology…or scientific breakthrough….” While we all are susceptible to wondering about what Tomorrow will bring, we can actively work Today to bring more love and inclusion and joy to our neighbors.
This will take sacrifice and hard work and the commitment to ally with others of differing cultures, faiths, and circumstances, but we can do it!
For all things are possible to those who believe and work together.
      Thanks, Ryan McGivern

      1. John Says:

        Riaan brings another verse.

But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. Matt 24:36

Are we subjected to believe that Harold Camping is better than God? What about Charles Manson and Jim Jones? People beileved them and look at what happened. What God says is truth and the verse is.

      2. John,
        Thanks for your comment!
You bring up a great subject of conversation–though it may be controversial.

You mention Manson and Jones as examples of individuals to whom people became followers. Those two individuals specifically used their power to horrific ends. But what of other leaders? Does Camping fall into such a category as to be equated with Manson and Jones? I would suggest certainly not.

We have all types of examples of individuals whose interpretations of scripture become dogma. Follow any Christian church’s history and you’ll find someone.
A Bishop, Pope, Reformation figure, Pastor, Evangelist, Prophet….

Even in ‘grassroots’ groups like Pentecostalism there are figures who set the tone for interpretation to follow.

So the discussion of interpretation of scripture is about history, politics, power, tradition, cultural context…

I would offer that there will always be people who lead. Some will go out on a limb and take chances. Their messages may seem ‘heretical’ or ‘offbase’
but sometimes history shows these ‘strange’ teachings have merit.

Taking the long view of history, I would argue that the ‘strange messages’ that last and find most truth are those that focus on justice, kindness, non-violence, humility, and inclusion. A lot of the other teachings seem to fall away like chaff.

And I might add that it is biographies and actions of people’s choosing that speak the loudest through the ages. So: what am I teaching with my life?
This is a question I ask myself often. I strive each day and I hope dearly that my life will be one of virtue, of giving, selflessness, justice.

After all, some spiritual leaders make a name for themselves and are ‘well known.’ But each of us ‘teach’ every day. Our children see us, our neighbors take notice, our city feels the repercussions…

        Thanks for reading MindFlowers John!
        Ryan McGivern

  74. John Says:

Ryan you are a robot. That’s what I have concluded. If God the creator has not toldthe angles or Jesus christ the day when jesus will come back. Harold camping is saying he knows more than God, Jesus, and the angels. Why do people seek the leading of false teachers. Humans at that. God is our father. Harold camping will have to answer to that. But Gods grace will forgive him if he has accepted what Jesus did for us. But I’m going to listen to the true word of God over the mathmatics and beliefs of a human that god has created. The rapture will happen but not on the day you provide or choose or do math with Gods time. Good luck to all. May God touch your hearts with his loving spirit and may your minds be protect and safe from those who try to sully it. May he reviel to you his plan for your life and ake away any worry about this subject.

John, Thank you for your comment!
My hope is that we all will step up to creating a better present so that our future generations will be able to see that we acted on our highest values of
      love, compassion, humility, welcome, selflessness…
I have a long way to go on my own journey John. Believe me.
But we can work together and maybe our combined strengths will cover over our weaknesses.
All we have is today and we can see the pain of marginalized folks around us. We see the effects of classism, racism, sexism, heteronormativity…
And we can undo those effects and replace those choices with a new culture of more justice and love.

  75. Nick Says:

You conflate apocalyptic thinking with social insensitivity; the two needn’t go hand-in-hand. Your, seemingly, “out of character” moments are appreciated congenially while your satire trends condescending.

    1. Nick:
I do accept your critique. I have worried that my gentle seeking of the ‘lighter side’ has given the impression that some religious beliefs are flat out “bad.”
This is surely not my intention and I’m sorry that my attempts at finding humor might be interpreted this way.
I also worry that my writing could be seen as portraying apocalypticism (in any of its forms) as necessarily opposed to, or unhelpful towards social justice.
So I say now: I know enough about religious folks and religion to know this is not true.
I am warmly thankful towards any efforts to better the lives of folks and I know that many ‘missionary’ projects are undertaken by religious people who may identify with the rapture and judgment day.
To those folk I say: your concern for health, dignity, joy, fulfillment, justice is important and appreciated and I applaud your efforts.

With that said, I do think there is a worthwhile discussion to be had about what consequences may be seen in some people when belief in an
immanent rapture is present…I do know a great weakness in many who ask such questions is assumptions. Assumptions and stereotypes will get us nowhere.
That is why I invite a conversation and genuine research into finding out answers.

So, I’m beating around the bush. Nick, I thank you for your honest and caring correction. I want MindFlowers to be a place where fun, satire, ‘comedy’, and social commentary can occur but I would hate if any one felt that I was demeaning or belittling. To that end, that is why I have taken the position that “no matter what happens May 21st, I know that Frankenmuth will be filled with fun, inclusive, loving people who will love to share a drink and story with you.”

Human kindness is always around us and available–with or without delicious Pilsners.

I want to stay open and vulnerable to new religious and spiritual insights so I dearly wish I may not be condescending.
Taken as a whole, the original post and my comments, I hope that this intention is clear.

  76. mE ME Says:

To the makers of this website. I believe this to be blasphemous . You dont know the day nor the hour when the Lord shall arrive. It doesnt matter how many time you try to mis interpret God’s word what you proclaim is not true and you know it. On that day everyone will know that all of these folks claiming to know when God shall come are in the wrong. Read your bible and study the word to show yourself approved unto God stop making false dates for the second coming, His coming is near indeed but not when MAN says he is coming. Get it together brothers and sisters God is not to be mocked, not to be disrespected His word is truth written by man and inspired by God. Do not play with God’s word and use it as a means to cause Gods people to depart from the truth , remember you will be juded by Him. I pray that you find the truth and ask God for forgiveness.

    1. Me Me, thank you for writing MindFlowers! We appreciate your comment.

If it happens that the Rapture does not occur on May 21st 2011, those who believed it was coming will most likely say that a “spiritual” transformation or Rapture occurred–‘seen’ only by those with discerning eyes.
But if nothing happens, one thing will be for sure: a group of folks will join just about every other group of spiritual adherents who have made dogmatic statements. Every faith tradition changes over time and to fit its context. Think about those Christians and their teachings that in America just a few decades ago taught the ‘Biblical principles’ of discrimination against women, or racially marginalized groups.
Not every Christian nor Christian tradition has been so extreme in its positions to be sure, but nobody is perfect.
I imagine that in a few decades many Christians will look at today at say: “golly, why’d so many folks discriminate against LGBTQ folk? Where’d they get that from?”
Is it dangerous to believe that the Rapture will occur on a specific date? Is it less dangerous or dangerous at all to believe that a Rapture is coming at any time? How about beliefs in hell, the end of the world, exclusion, discrimination of folks based on color, gender, attraction, class?
There aren’t easy answers to any of this. But I do believe that compassionate and humble neighborliness will help along the way.
One person’s innocuous belief is another’s blasphemy. Folks will always disagree (and I think that’s a good thing) but its how we show love and respect in the midst of disagreement that will reveal our character and create a more compassionate culture.
      Thanks for writing, Me Me!

  77. mE ME Says:

no problem i understand your point. And because we humans are not perfect we should speculate on things that we have no knowledge of. For instance Gods second coming wouldnt be something that he would tell one group and not the other That not how God works. I understand that no matter what everyone will chose which religious group to form i dont speak on the behalf of religion but the truth Gods word which is what we should follow instead of hearsay with no biblical back up. because at the end of the day the biblical references given do not support the claims, its just a strategic way of manipulating the scriptures to the new movement ” God coming on May 21st which isnt true” Either way have a blessed day and God bless you. Please do search the scriptures and you will find the truth. Though reliious groups change God is unchangable and his word stands firm as he does remember that .

Just been catching up on your blog after many weeks absense… quite a hornets nest!
Anyway just want to say hello and find out how you doing.
Things are good down here in South Africa; good surf, good weather and generally good vibes.
Anyway, 21 May just a short distance away. But come 22 May those christians who believed in a lie ( predicting the “day and the hour” Matt 24:36)will be sorely disappointed, in fact some serious hangovers await them!
Also, interesting to see the developments in the Middle East hey! God’s busy setting things up for the war of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38,39)
It makes it even more interesting when you heck out the previous chapter, Ezekiel 37… All about the birth of Israel (valley of the dry bones!)So Israel had to be in existense beforehand in order for the Russian/Arab attack on Israel! Things are hotting up as we head for 2014/2015 (see letters 78 and 80)
    God bless

    1. Thanks for writing in John.
Do you surf? I just watched a good surf movie called “Hana Surf Girls” (you can see my post about it at MindFlowers).
I, and the rest of the world look on with great hope for the grassroots uprisings in the Middle East.
I am very excited for the people’s liberation movements and I hope that they will result in greater liberty and autonomy of the working people.
I feel that here in the States there is also a feeling of worker discontent. We are wondering why the category of ‘super rich’ have seen their wealth greatly increase while the vast majority of our nation continues to be struggling.
This is the cause of justice that I believe we Christians can pick up and support. We can redouble our efforts to serve and ally with those disadvantaged–folks who are the working poor, folks who are discriminated against because of race or ethnicity. I am very hopeful that more and more interfaith labor with prove fruitful towards compassion, understanding, and true justice. The future is our making.

Thanks for the comment John–good to hear from you again. Ryan

    Hey Ryan,
Been surfing 45 years. Usually surf Cape Receife at a spot we call Cobbles, millions of rocks, bit like doing a rock dance trying to get in or out of the sea! If you google it you’ll find it at the Southern point of Port Elizabeth (Algoa Bay) next to the lighthouse. Cape Receife is a bird sanctuary and therefore a protected wildlife area – unspoilt and a stunning spot to surf, picnic or fish etc!
Tell me, where do you live? I’d like to know about your neck of the woods.

    1. John,
I live in a great area for surf: California’s Central Coast! (also happens to be great wine country–can’t complain)
Amazingly, I have yet to learn to surf. Its on my list and I have been pricing boards and suits.
I mention “Hana Surf Girls” because it was that documentary that got me thinking about how amazing of a sport it appears to be.
It really sounds like you have a slice of heaven to enjoy there! What a great way to enjoy and celebrate our beautiful world!

  80. Patti Morey Says:

Well, it will be interesting to see what, if anything, happens on May 21st. It seems like every time a religious organization predicts some specific date for a Holy occasion, the date just passes by quietly & uneventfully. Maybe, God finds amusement in mortals who would try to tie Heavenly deeds to Earth Time.

this makes no sense because the bible says no man nos the day or the hour so if u think u no more than the angels you will find out how wrong u r 1 day

      2. Hey Ryan!
My name is Ryan too. Coincidence? I don’t believe in coincidences.
Your reading MindFlowers was meant to be!
I’m glad you left a comment too.
I think we all have those days–you know, the “find out how wrong ur 1 day” kinda days.
        I hate those days!
But they’re good for me, I guess. Character builders.
I’m finding out more and more that it isn’t so much failure, but how I react to failure that is important.
(In fact, I believe that failure is a very important practice and more people should fail more often!)

Anywho, I hope your week is going well Ryan and I hope that you stop by MindFlowers again sometime soon.

  81. John Says:

    Hey Ryan,
Is California Central Coast anywhere near Carlsbad area, coz I visit a buddy who lives in Encinitas? Takes me to his “local” surf spots…good waves and good vibes in the water. I Find that San Diego is similar to Port Elizabeth, laid back and friendly.
By the way, forgot to mention in my letters, 78 and 80 above, that I had been asking Jesus for about two years what he meant by saying repeatedly that he would come when we least expect him, like a thief in the night etc (Mk 13:34-37, Matt 24:36-43, Matt 25:1-13,Lk 17:26-30). Anyway, 20 October 2008 I got the answer; I believe he told me he would be coming in a bull market, when things are prospering once again and people have little need for him – ZAP! This does not violate scripture as we still do not know ‘the day or the hour’ the rapture will take place.
I believe God will allow things to ‘heat up’ over the next little while in order to get our attention, because during hard times the dross gets burnt off our lives, we become refined and in turn we become more responsive to the things of God.

    1. John,

I was ambiguous before–sorry! I split time in West Hollywood Los Angeles where I’m plugging away at writing, acting, stand up comedy, and wrestling traffic and time in Santa Barbara. The Central Coast’s cities are primarily Ventura, Carpinteria, Oxnard…Just north of Malibu. We’ve got some amazing breaks around here and we host a number of surf competitions. All very nice folks around here and beautiful weather.
I like your line of questioning and I feel that many folks have different feelings about the world’s situation leading up to the return of Christ.
The issue I come back to often and the question that occurs to me is: “Whose condition will be good and whose bad?”
Unfortunately, we see in the US that there is a super-rich class that is pulling away from 95% of the population with greater wealth and ease and many are in dire straits. This unfortunately is largely reflected in the world at large. I imagine that there are many who would say “How can it get worse? Jesus must be coming!” for they have experienced colonialism, oppression, exploitation, abuses of all types. And to them I feel that the Church can say, “Well, we don’t know when Jesus is returning, but we’ll be Jesus’ hands and feet to you.” And by the Church pledging to ally and work alongside and suffer with the world’s most marginalized they enact a Christ event.
I also identify with the Judaic tradition of ‘Israel’–struggling with God.
Just as I read the story of Abraham’s arguing with God over Sodom saying “What if you find 100, 50, 10 righteous?” as showing Abraham’s failure to 1) argue further and 2) Go to Sodom to be counted among the righteous (and risk his life)…..
I believe that you certainly may be right John: God may allow things to heat up. But that doesn’t mean that we should for a minute add to the heat.
For example, in a literal way we can advocate for carbon reductions to decrease the heating trends and we can fight unjust governmental policies.

By the way, any suggestions for a board size/type for a 180 pound 6 foot new surfer?
      Cheers, Ryan

    2. D RICHARD PAUL Says:

I am from India. The verses that you have quoted relates the Rapture of Jesus on which day Jesus will not come to the earth but will appear amid the clouds and He will pick up the righteous which Jesus Himself has said in Mathew 24:31. But His second coming which will also be the global end will occur at the end where Jesus will descend in a white throne unto this earth to judge the world add put an end to the world along with the unrighteous (II Peter 3:6&7) Jesus Himself has mentioned in Mathew 25:31. Both these days have been told by Jesus. Please read my detailed in 136.

  82. MunchkinruntBabynapper Says:

Ok…….I heard abt this 21st may thingy but there’s two things i dont get, There’s a part of the scripture in the bible who supports H. Campings prediction, and there’s also another part which does’nt..So who is right and not here? Also, the Islams…apparently hav made their own prediction by saying tht Nabi.Muhamadis gonna come down to Jerusalem on 21st may!! Wht happen to mecca u muslims? Did Criss Angel made it disappear again? Dorks..

    1. D RICHARD PAUL Says:

The Bible is a book given by God through different 40 authors written at various times covering an era of 4355 years. The bible right from Adam To Jesus have clearly mentioned the generations covering a period of 4250 years. Even the exact years of each happenings and the years that these God fearing characters have lived are furnished. From this right from Adam up to Jesus the exact year of each happenings could be pin pointed. Even the second coming of Jesus, the Judgement Day and the Global end and as to how this globe will end are all predicted in the Bible. The only need is that we have to pray to the Lord and read and find out the truths. I have prepared a book called Bible Calender which works out the year wise happenings right from the date of creation of Adam up to the year of Global end or the second coming of Jesus which is also the judgement Day. Please read my comments under 131 below. The Bible which speaks about a God who has no beginning or end is also of the same quality of God. For the Bible also has not beginning or end. It begins with the words “In the Beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth” But it does not mention as to when God came into existance and it can never say this for our God is a God with no beginning as he describes to Moses as “I am that I am” (Exod 3:14). This Bible also ends with the words “I come quickly. Amen. Even so come Lord Jesus which means that Jesus is to come and establish an everlasting kingdom.
So all that is needed is to read, study and explore the deep treasures in the Bible with unceasing prayer and trust in Jesus. It will guide to meet the Lord and be picked up to heaven on the day of rapture.

  83. John Says:

    Hey Ryan,
Malibu is the furthest north i’ve been…lovely part of the world! About a board – I surf both short and long, just depends on what type of surf I get. Point breaks generally produce softer waves so a long board would be the best (aslo easier to learn on)A longboard is minimum 9′ in length. Beach breaks generally produce harder breaking waves where a short board would be best. Longboarding definitely has more ‘soul’. I suggest you rent a longboard and see how you get on. If you get stoked then buy one that suits you. The guys at the surf shop will be able to advise you on the model etc.
Tragic what has just happened in Japan! My heart goes out to those poor souls that have lost everything. Unfortunately, as I said in my my last letter, things are going to heat up as we approach the end…which is definitely not 21 May 2011. Incidently those folk who believe in this date are now traveling in convoys all over the States spreading their message. Not only in your country but ours as well as wellas many other lands. Remember, of all those who have previously predicted a “end times” date have had 100% failure rate! Christian or not we cannot go against God’s explicit word in Matt 24:36…nobody but God knows the ‘day and the hour’ when the rapture will take place. In fact your upcoming beerfest has more chance of not taking place than the rapture has of taking place on that date! Take care, John

    1. John,
Thanks for the heads up on the longboard–I’ll be looking into that!
Yes, it is tragic what has been transpiring in Japan. With their radiation concern now, their problems are mounting and I’m very saddened and concerned for the people there.

And I have been surprised at the strength of the Harold Camping message in South Africa and the US. I’ve spoken with three folks here in California who were quite convinced and you’re right–predictions of this manner have 100% failure rate. The one hinge issue that I have yet to get a clear answer on from those folks is whether the predicted Rapture on May 21st will be ‘bodily’. That is, will people actually disappear.
It seems to be that they are leaving wiggle room for a ‘spiritual’ Rapture where they will say that ‘the Holy Spirit left’ or ‘chances for salvation ended’ or an explanation that would have no objectively measurable or outward sign. We’ll see. It will be interesting to chart the adaptation of this group. Every faith tradition must change and grow over time…
Anywho, thanks for the comment John I hope your day is well!
      Cheers, Ry

  84. John Says:

    Hey Ry,
There’s no doubt that things are hotting up worldwide. I call it incremental acclimatisation, you know, when things not normal in the recent past become the norm today… for example, a larger percentage of the world population is starving today than in any other time in history. Wars and terrorism are now commonplace. Pestilences such as Aids, cancer, TB, N1H1, SARS and many other diseases, seemingly incurable continue. The average number of severe earthquakes (7 points or higher) have increased by a staggering % in just the last 100 years, devastating floods, hurricanes, Tsunamis… I could go on and on but you get my point. We kind of take it on the chin and carry on life as usual. Instead we also need to listen to what the word of God says about these LAST DAYS! In a nutshell, Jesus says ‘And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up for your redemption draweth nigh’ Lk 21:28.
Going back to Harold Camping. In 1992 he published a book titled, 1994? He introduced it with the following statement; “No book ever written is as audacious or bold as the one that claims to predict the timing of the end of the world, and that is pecisely what this book presumes to do.” History tells us that September 6, 1994 came and went without incident! So now Harold baby comes up with another set of dates!! These followers of his are fair game because the bible tells us to compare what is being preached with the word of God. I think you have a point about what excuse Harold will come up with this time!
Long weekend in SA so I’m off to surf…

  85. Matthew Says:

    Acts 1:7

    1. “Then they gathered around him and asked him, ‘Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?’
He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth….” Acts 1:6,7

  86. Aubrey Says:

Mat 24:36 “No one knows when that day or hour will come-not the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Mat 24:4 Jesus answered them, “See to it that no one deceives you.
Mat 24:5 For many will come in my name and say, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will deceive many people.
Mat 24:11 Many false prophets will appear and deceive many people,
Mat 24:24 For false christs and false prophets will appear and display great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
Mat 24:42 “So keep on watching, because you don’t know on what day your Lord is coming.

How is it possible that you know and the Son doesn’t. Are you GOD, as the scriptures say that only the Father knows.

I would like you to show why you should not be declared a false prophet!!

  87. Joielle Says:

I agree with Aubrey! According to the Word of God, u r lying!! And liars go to the lake of fire! Do u want 2 b burned 4 eternity?! Aubrey has displayed prrof that u r wrong! NO ONE know’s when God is coming back! So y is there a website about this?

    1. Joielle,

      Thank u 4 writing a comment! 😉

You made me return to a thought I’ve been having for a while about how many points of disagreement there can be found in scriptures.
I have met with and spoken to a bunch of people in my past who thought that they pretty much had the Bible figured out.
A couple of things I’ve noticed about these folks who knew their Bible really well–
      1. They do not claim to know exactly the one right interpretation of every line of scripture (because there is always more to learn right? And, maybe with years of reading new meanings and interpretations can appear…or God will use a line to speak to you in a novel way. That’s the nature of the written word, I guess)
      2. They were all equally interested in being ‘lovers of the Word’ and imitated the Bereans. Their study of the Bible and their love for Jesus were equally passionate and honest.

So I’ve gleaned from my experience of #1 that humility is important. We’re all struggling along and we’re always in debt to tradition (whether newer or older), inspiration, critical analysis and scientific input, our culture, etc. Saying “I don’t know” is just fine when dedication to love, service, and justice are still expressed in a patient and humble manner.

And I’ve gleaned from #2 that folks with genuine love for Jesus and with open hearts will still continue to disagree.

Where does this leave us? I feel strongly that disagreement is good. Conflict can be good when dealt in a healthy way. My ideas and your ideas are important–they can often co-exist in a safe respectful community without any problem. Look at college campuses! Is there any other place so packed with diverse and passionate interests? Yet these students live side by side in dorms, learn from each other in class, and share in community meals in their cafeterias (often a dozen bowls of Cap’n Crunch from a giant gravity fed dispenser!).

In the spirit of humility, I will have to agree with you Joielle that perhaps no one really could know God’s plans for the future. Maybe it is the case that God doesn’t know the future! Maybe all of us, the whole of creation (you and I and all the squid for example) are mutually responsible for the shaping of the present and future! Hmmm. I’ll have to think about that.

You know, maybe the less I ‘think’ and the more I just ‘am’ the better. Maybe I’ll just be open to love and allow myself to let love conquer fear.

I don’t know. If you have any ideas or suggestions on it Joielle, I’m all ears.

In the meantime I’ll be practicing my German beer drinking songs and be finishing up polishing my beer stein collection.

      Gott segne Sie!

  88. authur jena Says:

is it true that jesus is coming back on 21st may 2011?please tellmw iwant to know the truth

    1. Thank you for writing Authur Jena!

There are some who say that the Rapture will occur on May 21st 2011.
The folks who say this are prompted by the teachings of Harold Camping, a fellow who has predicted the Rapture before.
Camping sets the date of the End of The World at October 21st 2011.

I have read Camping’s literature and I personally didn’t find it all too convincing.
One of the issues I have not been able to get an answer on is whether Camping or any of his followers are claiming that the Rapture will
be physical–whether people will actually disappear. So no matter what happens May 21, it could be hard to prove/disprove the claim.
Perhaps the events of October 21 will be more easily judged as ‘the end of the world’ or not.

Here’s wishing you and yours much love and peace in 2011,
      Ryan McGivern

  89. Riaan Says:

    Hi Ryan.

I have read some of the comments and then some of your replies. Just 2 questions, do you beleive that this date is the rapture, yes or no, coz i just get confused whether you really believe in it or not, and then if you do believe so and this does not happen will you then believe in 2012 as the end of the world?
Thank you and looking forward to your reply.

    1. Hi Riaan!
Our names are kinda similar huh?
      Thanks for your comment!
There is a lot of confusion about May 21st, that’s for sure.
      Lotsa questions still out there!
Harold Camping says that Oct. 21st 2011 will be the End Of The World.

      What should we believe?
Well, I’ve always placed action over belief.
And I think that we can see that folks of many different worldviews and beliefs can agree on compassion, justice, inclusion, non-violence, and
interfaith respect–and then most importantly act on those convictions and values.

Will there be a rapture on May 21st 2011?
What do you think about it?
(I myself totally believe that May 21st will happen.)

      1. gee knox Says:

Believe what the Bible says not what man say, with God there is no confusion. How could u possibly believe this rubbish, i mean honestly…

      2. Thanks for reading MindFlowers, Gee!

        I like your points.
And I think I understand what you mean, but I do want to ask a serious question:
How does one discern the difference between “God’s Intended Meaning” in the Scriptures and “What other people have said about how to understand this” and “The human writer’s context and cultural situation?”
Even if one takes Biblical Inspiration seriously, there certainly have been many well-meaning and devout Christian scholar of the Word who cannot agree.

Or is it that there are “some things left to mystery and personal revelation” in scripture and maybe just a few “unquestionable truths?”

I only ask because I just don’t know where one can draw the line of “this group of Christians properly understand scripture” and “these groups don’t.”
That is to say, maybe even if Harold Camping and folks who believe him are ‘different’ from the norm–they are so different from some folks who believe in Speaking in Tongues or Pre-millenialism or Immersion Baptism.
There’s some folks who even think Irish Catholics like me are wacky because we love to party and vacation in Frankenmuth Michigan!

Anywho, thanks for reading MindFlowers: The Internet’s Only English Language Pet Parapsychology Site.

  90. Robin Sanford Says:

IDIOTS! who told you about this nonsense? if you’ve actually read the bible you’ll know that no one actually knows about this except for God himself so do us all a favor and SHUT THE HELL UP!!!

    1. Robin,
      Thank you for your comment.
Yes, there are some things that I guess God only knows.

I think I will go and buy some fireworks and celebrate…I’m sure JC would like them..

  93. Myobi Says:

    Matthew 24:36

“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”

The Bible itself says simply only God knows. People who try and pin-point a date are going against what the Bible already states, which isn’t very Christian at all.

The Bible does give us warnings as to the last days though, but even these warnings are vauge to say the least.

Yes, we are in the last days, and yes the end is soon. But for as long as people try to plan when the end of the world will come about, it is not going to happen. And that is straight from the Bible. Can you argue with that?

    1. Hello Myobi!
      Thank you for your comment.
No, I would not want to argue with that.
Mostly because I don’t like to argue too much.
Isn’t it wonderful how often our language and expectations fail us–only to allow room for life and love to surprise us with even better things?
I am always amazed at how far we have come as a species in our short span of time we’ve had around so far.
Maybe we’ll have thousands of more years to further sort out the injustice, greed, bigotry, ego and separation that currently still beset us.
Maybe we are not assured those thousands of years to get things right so we’d better start on getting people fed, creating just economies, ending the racial inequities and religious enmities that cause such pain.
We have wonderful examples before us, some of my faves being: Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Judith Butler, Gandhi, St. Francis, St. Theresa of Avila, Muhammad PBUH, Cornel West, bell hooks, Lao Tsu, Buddha, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Harvey Milk, Rambam, Sojourner Truth…and that fellow the Nazarene of little repute who was good friends with the marginalized, outcast and poor.
Together we can do it! Thanks Myobi, Ry.

God says no one knows when the world will end, not even jesus himself knows. Only the heavenly father knows. It’s not in the bible so no matter how many times you WANT to know everything there is to know, you never will. You are a liar and a sinner, you should repent.

    1. Ashley,
      I am a sinner.
      You’re absolutely right about that.
And repentant? Yup. I’ve got the worst conscience ever.
I once took a street sign that had fallen into a ditch and I didn’t last one day with that thing in my room before I walked back over
to that ditch (in my pajamas!) and put it right back where I found it.
What were we talking about again?
Oh yeah. There’s a beer festival in Frankenmuth Michigan THIS WEEKEND!

  95. Shan Says:

He made such prdications before also for 1994 and when nothing happended later he said it was calculation mistake, so what is a gurantee that this time there is no calculation or any other mistake. He will have some other reason on 22nd May 2011 when nothing happens…in that case what should be punishment for him for scaring so many people…???

    1. Hey Shan! Thanks for the comment–

You’re right. Its funny how often it happens that ‘apocalyptic’ predictions align with the ‘prophet’s’ end of life.
It seems its almost a way for a person to say: “My ego is so inflated that when I’m about to die–the world must be at it’s end!”

It won’t be a very good argument on May 22nd that since “nothing happened” it wasn’t true, however.
It seems to me that the claim is only that “true believers will be given their incorruptible heavenly bodies” and no more people can receive God’s forgiveness.
So they aren’t necessarily claiming anything that could be objectively verified. No disappearing bodies in the Rapture, no flaming rain, no angels descending…

We will have to wait for October 21st 2011 when Camping says the world will come to an end. BUT! Again, it could be ‘spiritually interpreted’ to mean that it is just
another ‘age’ or ‘epoch’ and “God is doing something new!” So again it will be hard to really hold Camping accountible.

Wouldn’t it be great if more ‘spiritual’ and ‘faithful’ people got in the news for their love, compassion, reasonableness, inclusion?
I am always so happy to see people of faith in the news fighting for LGBTQ liberties, labor rights, non-violence, interfaith connection making….

Thanks for reading MindFlowers Shan! Ry

“John Carter of Mars” is expected to be released in 2012 so we must be getting close.
Plus, after that Tron Legacy bullshit we had to endure, maybe the world should end.

    1. Chris Bawls,
Please. This is a serious issue.
Please do not laugh your “A” off.
We all know what that means.
Maybe next time play it safe with laughing your “T” or “C” off.

      Thanks. Much Appreciated.

  98. Pastor Mike Giles Says:

    Dear Brethern,
I am glad to see you are looking for the return of our Lord Jesus. It although is upsetting that you are so easly deceived. To claim to know the day and the hour is to claim you know more than Jesus. Keep you faith in Christ when you discover you have been mislead, because Jesus is coming but you will not know when. Pray for the church because this is going to bring a lot of backlash against the church. My prayers are with you.

    1. Pastor Mike Giles,

      Thank you for your comment!
I too am concerned for the Church, humility of our claims, and how the well publicized beliefs of some Christians portray believers.
However, I think that this belief of the Harold Camping folks is pretty minor in many respects compared the media attention that has been given to those faithful folks who would deny liberties to LGBTQ individuals and their families.
In the not-too-distant future, our children and their children will be scratching their heads about the way some communities of faith sought to marginalize and discriminate against their fellow Americans–and I am pretty sure this “May 21/Oct 21” thing will be completely forgotten.
We are seeing a great day in our world where interfaith understanding and love are expanding in our churches. We are seeing movements of great love and inclusion swell in many peoples’ hearts, overturning generations of brutal and corrupt mistreatment of some people based on sex, gender, and bodies.
What a great day May 21st is already turning out to be! Although there is surely still factions of American faithful who would seek to enshrine ‘stigma’ and a class of ‘Samaritans’ in their law-books, they are losing ground before greater love and justice.
I am thankful for great hearts and courageous heroes in our midst–these admirable individuals reveal their love for their fellow humanity each day through prophetic justice work and righteous acts fixing the world–‘Tikkun Ha Olam.’
What has May 21st brought us so far?
Did we come one day closer to the ‘end of the world as we know it?’
I am of the mind that each time we embrace one another in service, goodwill, humility, compassion, we enter the type of kenotic love of the divine–
Today I give thanks for those great saints among us who work diligently for a more loving world.

Thanks for writing Pastor! I hope you come by MindFlowers again–

    What now ?
    Nothing has happened

    1. Thank you Your Mom for your comment!

Not to be argumentative, but actually lots has happened.
I had a lovely lunch at a Mexican restaurant, some really good coffee and two…count ’em two! gluten free cookies.

  100. Riaan Says:

    Hi Ryan.

So now that 21 May 2011 has past, do you still believe in 21 October 2011?

  101. Johann Says:

Yep, no rapture. I actually don’t believe in the rapture in any case. I feel these predictions only hurt the work of God on earth. But on the other hand . . . the Bible says no man knows the date and sure as heck these familyradio-people are proving that!! I’ll bet on the day the Lord returns they’ll say: “Well, that was my next guess!” Yes, I poke fun at them. I think they deserve it.

What will happen now that many have ridd themselves of earthly posessions? Except maybe Johannes Coetzee. He didn’t seem so eager to leave the earthly-things behind. He decided he wanted to leave earth in style and took refuge in a nice hotel. Can he pay the bill?

  103. John macleod Says:

Hey Ryan, how did your beer fest go?
Sad that so many gulible Christians believed in a lie. Remember what I said about the signs from God in the form of tetrad/solar eclipses in the years 2014/15. That’s where we are headed for the time of the rapture…Its written in the “stars.” I can elaborate on these signs again (plus more!) if you wish.
    You surfing yet?

  104. Mark Says:

Erm he hasn’t returned yet and it is June 24th. Maybe he’s late? Perhaps having late lunch or tea? Or is it that when he does return every Eye will see and Every Ear will Hear, they will call on the mountains to hide themselves and it will be no good. No where to run and no where to hide. God mocks Mockers, he does Love Sinners after all he Loves me!

  106. D RICHARD PAUL Says:

The Bible describes about 3 major future events. The first is the rapture. The Bible is very clear that the time of rapture is known only to God the Father. Not even the angels in heaven. (Mark 13:32) Jesus Himself has explained about the day of rapture in (Mathew 24:30). Rev 1:7 also describes about the day of rapture. I Thesolonians 4:14-17 has explained in detail about the happenings on the day of rapture in which it is said that Jesus will appear amid the clouds and He will send His angels to pick up first the souls of those who have led a righteous life and died. Then the angels will pick up those righteous of those who are living and are alive on the day of rapture. This rapture day cannot be predicted by any one at all.On the day of Rapture when the total world sees Jesus all those who are living on the earth and who did not believe in Jesus will wail and plead that they should be taken up to heaven. Second those who lived unbelieving Jesus and those who died and are in the hades (includidng those who pierced Jesus will see Jesus from the hades and wail (Rev1:7)
The 2nd incident is the period of anti-Christ which will be for 3 1/2 years. This period has been explained as 1260 Days (Rev12:6),42Months (Rev 13:5/Rev11:2) and as “A TIME,TIMES, AND HALF A TIME. Here “TIME” refers to 1 year and “TIMES” to 2 Years and HALF A TIME to 1/2 year totaling to 3 1/2 years.
The 3rd happening is the second coming of Jesus where Jesus will descend in a white throne from Heaven to judge this world.(Mathew 25:31) Please note the difference between the two verse that Jesus mentioned in Mathew24:30 &Mathew 25:31. This day will be a horrible day as Jesus will come with full of anger because anti-christ has seated himself in the temple of Jerusalem in the place of the Holy of Holy (II Thesolonians 4:3&4). This is what Daniel refers as the “Abomination of Desolation” (Daniel 11:31). Further the Horrible situation that the inhabitants of this world and those who are living in Jeudaea will have to face a that time is explained by Jesus on that day. (Mathew 24:15-22). The second coming of Jesus will also be the day of Global end (Mathew 24:3)
According to the Bible only the day of Rapture cannot be calculated. But the dayi of His coming can be predicted. Daniel 9:25 says that From the day of proclamation of the command to rebuild Jerusalem to the coming of Messaiah will be equal to 7weeks and 62 weeks. King Cyrus in the year BC 538 passed the command to rebuild Jerusalem and the Temple after the completion of 70 years of Babylon slavery of the Israelites. (II Chronicles 36:22/Ezra 1:1&2).
Jesus was born on BC 5. So the in between period is 533 years. Again during the Roman reign and during the reign of the muslims the Israelites were scattered from various parts of the world. During the year 1948 the Britishers declared Israel as a seperate nation and passed a commandment just King Cyrus did. and the Israelites scattered throughtout the world are assembling back to Israel as promised by the Lord God in Isaiah 11-11-13). To arrive at the second coming of Jesus we have to apply the same formula which will mean that the second coming of Jesus will be 1948 + 533 = 2481.Therefore the second coming of Jesus will be in the year AD 2481.
The second question is how does this 533 years match with 7weeks and 62 weeks? The folowing proceedure has to be adopted. First 7 weeks and 62 weeks has to be written as 762 weeks. These 752 weeks is to be converted in to days which will be 752 X 7 = 5334 days . This 5334 days are to be assumed as 5334 years. The number 4 at the end is to be taken as month. Therefore the resultant is 533 years & 4th month. Therefore the second coming of Jesus will be 1948 + 533 = 2481 AD. in the month of April.
Daniel 9: 26 explains that during the last 7 years are important years. 27th verse says that during the first 3 1/2 years will be very blessed years because the temple of Jerusalme will be rebuilt and people from all over the world will come to the temple and worship the Holy of the Holiest (Micha 4:1&2) The Holy sprit will descend on each and every one who call up on the Lord. (Joel 2: 28 & 29). But after the end of the first blessed 3 1/2 years Satan the anti christ will capture the total world and enter the Holy city of Jerusalem and the temple of Jerusalem.(Daniel 9:27). Immediately after teh completion of this 3 1/2 year Jesus will descend angrily on the mount of Olives in a white throne to judge the world.
The Global end will be on the same day of the Judgement. (Mathew 24: 3). After Jesus judges the world He will by His word convert this earth into a lake of fie and destroy the world. He will cast the anti christ and the unrighteous whose names are not found in the book of life into this lake of fire. (II Peter 3:6 & 7 /Rev 20:15). Then He will create a new Heaven and a new earth. The old earth will not be seen for He will remove it from its orbit. (Rev 21:1)
Therefore let us prepare ourselves to meet and be picked up by the angels on the day of Rapture. If we are picked up we will not wail on His day of Rapture.

  107. NANCY FOX Says:

    1. D.Richard Paul Says:

This is all rubbish. First the anti christ is in you. What rubbish are you talking. Stop it . Jesus has come only once and will come next amidst the clouds and pick up the saved souls. I Thesolonians 4:14-18. This is his rapture. But He will come for the second time to the earth to Judge the earth (Mathew 25:31) Nancy and Aka dont think that you are God or that you have come from the Lord. You are also a sinner like any other man It is said that Anti Christ will post himself like God in the last days IIThesolonians 2:3&4. You are one such anti christ. Dont be proud. Humble yourself to the Lord Jesus commit all uour sins to the Lord Jesus who is willing to forgive you. Learn to be humble. God created man only to praise God like God created Lucifer to praise God. But Lucifer failed and and so God created man. It is better you read the bible and understand it thoroughly before you think that you are God. Anti Christ also will claim himself to be God in the last days.So commit yourself to God toltally Get saved Get the Baptisim and obey God..

      1. D.Richard Paul,
Thank you for stopping by MindFlowersDotNet!
Eschatology is one of my favorite topics to discuss and I’m glad that you dropped by.
I find it is invaluable to investigate the origin of ‘end time’ narratives.
Through the history of the church it seems to me that there have been numerous ideas on how to view
the future, or the plan of God, or the end/goal/pursuit of the Church.
In my (albeit limited) research it seems that so many of the ideas commonly held in the US now are in
fact relatively recent and were considered novel at the time of their introduction.
By the way, you mention ‘anti-christ’ in your comment above: have you seen the excellent movie
called Antichrist by Lars Von Trier? We have a movie analysis of it here if you want to view it
and then leave a comment about it here we’d appreciate it!
        Thanks again, Ry
